Question is, can I get away from this, flop looked completely innoculous and i thought it was happy days :( I was only really worried about A4, actual put the guy on a decent pocket pair or A8 (limp - call preflop) then being so aggressive on turn.

Have I played this one wrong or is it just one of those things??

With hindsight a 400/500 raise preflop prob gets him off it, but then I make only 50 chips with aces......

Any comments/advice appreciated

    well i think ur losing ur chips regardless lol

    don't check that flop next time though

    I think only benefit of betting flop in this instance is i woulda known I'd lost all my chips 1 street sooner lol, but fair play i shoulda bet it.

    YOU CANT CHECK THE FLOP A REASONABLE SIZE BET WOULD LET YOU KNOW WHAT SORT OF HAND HES GOT IF YOU DO I THINK HE ALL INS THEN YOU CAN GET OF IT

    Just unlucky I think.  I wudda bet flop myself, but they still wudda gon in the middle had he raised.  Badboy has more discipline than me if he can get away from this, as villain could think he is good with 99+

    Unfortunately, there are times when you will get someone who will make a lose call, with the "Hole Cards" you are around and 80% favourite to win the hand, or put another way, you will win the hand 4 times out of 5, but of course there is always that 1 dreaded time.

    It depends on what you want from the hand, do you want a caller? with AA, or do you just want to take down the blinds? whichever one you want decides how much you want to raise or bet, personaly, I don,t like my AA being outdrawn so always bet big no matter what stage of a game I am in, I would raher win lots of little pots than lose 1 big 1

BY CHECKING UR ALLOWING HIM TO CATCH UP...AND BY BETTING ON FLOP AT LEAST U CAN GET A FEEL FOR WHERE UR ROCKETS STAND... NOW TURN PLAY...HE BETS U RAISE HE SHOVES... THATS UR ANSWER...FOLD! UVE USED UR CHIPS FOR INFO AND U GOT THE RESPONSE.... ACES LOOK PRETTY BUT THEY ARE ONLY A PAIR... THE BOARD DOES LOOK QUITE DRY BUT U COULD B LOSING TO ANY MADE SET,2PAIR,46,OR THE WHEEL... PRETTY DISGUISED HANDS... WOULD OF STILL LEFT U WIV 1.1K WIV BLINDS AT 25/50... PLENTY OF TIME...BY NOT BETTING BETTING THE FLOP... SAY ONLY HALF SIZE..     not harsh Jimbo, its probably absolutely spot on! think i need to work on that though coz im not sure i woulda laid it down if he shoved on flop tbh

    thankfully sky have decided to stop dealing me aces so i dont have the decision to make anymore ;) lol
