All in preflop question

I have had a debate with a friend, whether under any circumstances on line or live, whether it is correct for the following...............

Six handed table - two players all in pre flop -everyone else folds - no futher betting

The five communal cards are dealt BEFORE the players hole cards are turned over.

I think it should be the other way around - hole cards on their backs and then the five community cards.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

    In a sng, or mtt. then the cards will be flipped preflop.

    In a cash game, in most casinos and, sometimes online, the cards are only flipped after the board has been dealt.

    Why is it different for cash, Greg? It seems odd to flip 'em afterwards. Have to say in all the TV poker I've watched (and I watch loads including cash) I've only ever seen the cards flipped pre-flop.

    But, i must admit, it did take me by surprise when i played cash at the Vic in London for the first time. I kept wanting to flip my hand over once it went to showdown, but i had to wait for the rest of the board to be dealt first! People moaned when i kept making the mistake of flipping em over prior to the board being dealt!

    As said here

    In cash its optional, flip them at the point of all in or keep them covered until showdown, that way you can muck them without showing.

    In tournaments they flip over

    Thanks for your info guys - its a new one on me community cards first. Never seen it on TV or on line, until a friend of mine came across it on another poker site, which was in a cash game.
    So I think Greg may be correct about only in cash games

    Most tv games now have the card cameras anyway.
