Hi guys,

I qualified for my first SPT last night **APPLAUSE**

The reason for the post is I have no idea what to expect. I wondered if you could help at all?

I believe I have qualified for the main event which commences on the Saturday but I keep hearing about another 5/6 side events. Are these cash buy ins on the day? What events are there?

Also being a complete loner and coming along alone is there lots going on when there is no poker? Or is is 24/7 poker?

When is the final whistle blown?

Thank you very much in advance of any information you can give.

The main event for which you have qualified begins at 2pm and final finishes about 1am

I will post up full details a week or so before the event

The venue will deal cash games and sngs for most of the day when tables become free

Sky presenters will deal Presneter SNGs if they are knocked out

The venue will run its usual Friday and Sunday tournaments

    Fri £75 FO

    Sun £5 RB at 3pm
    Sun £100 FO at 6pm

    Thanks SPT,

So am I right in thinking the majority will arrive Fri PM and leave Sun PM?

    Can you recommend a hotel?

If they are not local enough then the majority will be two nights in a hotel, fri and sat

    Hotels

Days Inn Luton is <5 mins walk away

The Red Lion Brookes is one minute away, and very nice it is too. Not big, so book quick

I  think the Days Inn is around £50/60 a night. There is also a Travelodge about two miles away which currently has rooms for £29 on the Friday night.

    Hi Small dog,

If your going in on the Fri, look out for Tikay and introduce yourself. He's a pussycat and he can put you onto some of the gang who will be there on that night.

Small dof, you're in for a treat. The live events are great fun. If you're new to live poker - let the suits know, and they'll often run a "school" to help you out before the evnt begins.
The night before is a laugh too (helps when you cash), ENJOY!

We know Flash.  With your virility Volcano would have given birth at least twice by now otherwise.
