turned straight, river horror

Villain is a solid reg who hasn't stepped out of line against me in this or the previous few sessions. I'm happy to call him from the button pre as his opening range can be 'creative'. When he bets the flop, it could well be a standard 3 quarter button c bet. I'm happy to keep it small at this stage and call.

Turn is lovely, although obviously the flush does arrive if I'm very unlucky. Villain now checks, again in line with a c bet, and I fire an amount that isnt getting me suckered in but also gives me an answer to his range. River pairs (always a horror) and villain tanks before firing large just before timebar runs out. What's best in this situation and should I have asked a larger question on flop / turn???

in my opinion and i may be wrong, i flat the river here. We have a good hand but only realy beat a bluff. I understand the call pre and in playing i probably make the same call however it probably should be mucked pre.

do they generally bet draws on the flop?

readless i call, but depends on whether you put the villain on AK etc or a diamond draw?

does look like a value bet on river, i would have checked back on turn and called river,
i dont think flattin 67os is profitable tbh vs this player

fold pre, fold river and bet turn bigger imo.

also what do you mean by 'asking the question'?
