HU facing river bet,

FIND OUT THIS HAND - 0335149839

Played this guy abit before, he has tended to float quite wide on dry flops. The turn is a safe card for me, but rather than bloat the pot and commit myself to the hand, I decide to check for some pot control.

The river brings in a backdoor flush and straight, and sure enough he fires a solid bet.

At the early levels I've been betting most dry flops, and c-betting almost all the time unless the board is sopping wet.

I've tended to give up all my air on the turn and river if un-improved, which may allow him to float the flop and get me off on the turn, or river, but as he checks the turn here I think he's more likely to have Ax or Kx.....

Anyway, when a random overcard comes like this, do you still go with your intial read? and "if he hit the queen, its unlucky?"

Is it too tight to fold in these situations, he's not really representing anything, but he's no bluffed much in the past. I think ten jack, and the flush draw would bet the turn, given my cbet %age, and the history of me shutting down on the turn & river.

In that case i think i go with your initial thoughts on turn, if he has hit the queen then its ul and you get a bit more info

he could be bluffing so chances we can win, also blinds relatively low so i think its ok to call here to get info

is he capable of bluffing the river? if yes i would lean towards snap call ;)

you say he floats alot here so when you c bet he still has good equity against your hand, if he doesn't bluff alot there is in argument for checking the flop, i think if you cbet the flop you have to bet that turn and give up the river if he bets into you, as played i think i would fold, if he bluffs alot then a call might not be bad,

Although he has good equity on the flop, I'm pretty sure I have the best hand, and I have position to control the pot size in the rest of the hand.......

I just can't see what he's trying to tell me he has....unless he's back-doored a flush, but I'm quite sure he would lead the turn with a fd, maybe he was planning to check raise?

But that doesn't make sense because I've been slowing down on the turn unless I've got something big, so his c/r would only lead to him getting it in on a draw miles behind.....

There's also been no history of him c/raising me on turn or river.

So my thought process on the river, was I planned to just check behind, or snap call a bet on any non Ace/King/9......

But then I had 2nd thoughts when he actually did bet! lol......

had he been showing down any High cards?
would he rep a queen on the end? it does hit his range pretty hard if you wernt so shallow you can hero call and get some info worse ways

i would have called the K6 hand, hes pretty bad,  back to your original hand his bet is a bit bigger compared to previous, he still could be bluffing the river with the best hand, if you bet the turn this wouldnt happen so you have set yourself up to bluff catch with bottom pair

not sure im qualified to give opion on first hand but do you not think he may have a 6 and slow playing it. thats how i would play it. checking the flop, flatting your raise, checking the turn to let you bet out again and then firing in a bet on river. if you dont think this dohhhh and nick could you explain why?

sure any 6 is in this guys range and he is the kind of player that would slowplay it but its only a very small part of his range

think u have to fold here, only hand ur ahead of is a bluff, what would he be bluffing, not an ace or a king,or a raise pre flop would have been played,so maybe a q or jack with some sort of mid card, chances are i think he,s hit, maybe something like q 7,so i would fold.

Yeh as above, it's so hard to flop trips heads up, that I'm not really considering that as a possibility in such a small-ish pot...

If he has 6x, then, meh, so what - nice hand.
