Well hello!!

Welcome to tonight's rather action packed Mastercash show..

Trev and I will have the Poker talents of WPT Magazines editor Mr Jon 'Swampster' Young with us in the studio all night... to help with hand analyses and add some light relief!!

So Make sure you get your questions in for him!!


Jon Young has been writing for, and editing, poker magazines for nearly 7 years. He arrived at WPT Poker via a long and winding road that has taken in stops at several poker and gambling titles, and now finds himself at the biggest in the business. A keen live player with a World Championship title to his name (of sorts), Jon has mixed it up with the very best, playing in tournaments as diverse as the Irish Open, World Series of Poker, and the £5 re-buy at the White Bear pub, Kennington.

There may even by a tourny entry for the best question (There WILL be).

My research has discovered a Strip Poker world title, Peanuts with 'magical' properties and a a 3 word review of the expendables. Gonna be a good show!

    When does Jon envisage his mag will be running a feature on a member of Team Sky Poker due to them taking down a WPT event? Does he think he will still be the editor when it happens? ;-)

    As today proves, how can Wenger justify not buying a goalie or defender for ur rabble in the transfer window?

    Hi Lisa Marie, Trev and Jon,
    I am a tightish player, who is trying to play more aggressively. Lately I've been playing quite good poker, without any success. There have been times when I've been really badly out drawn, which I accept as part of the game, but I also find myself making 1 mistake that ruins my games(tourneys).
    I have won a couple of live tourneys, all be it, 4 or 5 years ago and I feel quite confident in my skills but I believe I lack something to progress.
    My question is, can an average player like myself cut out those bad decisions, or do I have to accept that my game has stagnated and the only way is to re-invent my game? BUT HOW?

    A bit long winded but you know me lol

    Not playing tonight, but have been watching the cash300 tables this evening.

    Can you show this hand please?

    It's from Cash300 table 1, it happned at around 7-15pm

    dont show that hand i got totally outplayed :o). why i not just fold pre-flop ;[

    i folded because the river is highly unlikely to be a card i like, and im 100% facing a huge bet whether it be a brick or scare card. i only have top pair with a weak kicker. i dont want to re-re-raise because im effectively sticking my whole stack in the middle or at the very least pot comitting myself. and calling the turn and folding the river is just bad. well played lolufold imo.

    was wierd, he was raising a lot of pots so wanted to use my tight image in position. expected to take it down flop when i raised him. then when the J comes i have top pair, he checks and my first thought was to keep the pot small and check behind hoping for a blank i can then call a bet on the river with. but i decide to try and take it down then and there. i was like oh my word when he raised, what have i gotten myself into lol
