I replied to a similar thread elsewhere.....

".....Sad that it is leaving the UK, not sad that it's leaving The Empire, pardon the imperialist pun.

I cannot think of a worse Venue than The Empire for such a Tourney, with players all over the place, all scrunged up in little alcoves & side-rooms. It cannot possibly enhance the brand.  It (The ME) carries a £10k price tag, it's not a Tenner Rebuy....."

The conditions were nothing short of a disgrace for players who were playing a £10,000 Tournament.

A very short era, Mr Monkey - what was it, 4 years?

On that basis, I've lived through a lot of eras.

    the empire is a dump

the first year of moving people between 3 different clubs was even more ridic

and harrahs dont own any casinos in the UK with the capacity to run it.

edit:  the only way it could have worked was doing the first couple of days at the Hilton on somewhere but costs plus the reduced revenue of having a load of degens within walking distance of their roulette wheels.
