I know this is 30nl, but if you look at the 100 and above levels, if you folded everytime you got 3bet you would never see a flop.
Jam it in, you're getting called (obviously) by AA, probably getting called by QQ, and maybe getting calls from AK/JJ. That's good enough for me. Not to mention, you're ensuring matey boy who flats your opening raise isn't getting the price to come along and set/straight/flush mine with his small pair/suited cons, and totally spoil the party.
tl;dr- wut beaneh said. we has kings, arrreeeeeeen
There used to be a poster on here called Merenovice who was a whizz with the numbers and calculated all of these for us! (he would do it properly i.e. from a pack of 50 cards having 2 kings out.....). I wonder if he's still around actually - great guy.
That's exactly what I was shouting with the hand I posted!
I felt a flat call here, would lead to bigger decisions on the flop. No history on the guy, so felt that it was a defo shove, even though in my gut, i knew A's would show up.
I know i shoudn't be thinking about a fold, not pre flop anyway. But but it does creep in, not for long though.
Cheers for the feed back guys.
stick it in and bink the king, simples. But Jakally put it perfectly, if you try and fold kings preflop it's only ever gonna get you in trouble this deep. It's basically never, ever gonna be a good fold, even on the times they do have aces. Kings and aces should always be getting your stack in ASAP- other hands you can get off if the betting gets too hot.
Nice hand! Bet the guy with aces was happy ^^
