Meanwhile, the Tourney proper - THURSDAY evening - has these 15 Regged. A good bunch more will come through tonight's Semi, plus direct buy-ins tomorrow, so looks like a class field in the making.
Didn't Nik Persaud say he would play this when he did the live show? I think it's a must watch this month! Posted by splashies
Ihave just spoken with Nik.
He is unfortunately unable to play the £220 this month, as he a prior charity engagement to attend. Depending on his schedule, he may well play one of our Double Stack tournaments in the coming months.
this was a fantastic structure imo it gave players who would usualy not get to play this sort of tourney a bit of deepy experiance i would love to see a repeat

Are you joking?
It doesn't mean 'more play', it just means more folding - for two hours longer.
srsly who decided on this structure?? I would rather pay double the buyin than go through this again Posted by pryce6
....and for your next job, Nick, I'd like you to try running an Online Poker room!
Here's the thing. You disliked it, another Poster loved it.
A few weeks ago, a Satellite was run with a different structure to the Event proper. And it kicked off on the Forum, "it should be the same, Sky Poker don't have a clue what they are doing" sorta thing.
Last night - well, only 2 Posts commented, but 1 in favour, 1 against!
Pleasing all of the people all of the time is a big ask........
It's done on a case-by-case basis, I think. I'll mention your concern to the Suity Peeps, but I'll also mention the other guys positive comments.
Good luck if you play the Biggie - though it's the identical structure, which you disapproved of last night, I think!
In Response to Re: The £220 Biggie is THIS Thursday. Bootiful. : No, bud, I'm doing the TV Show, with LML, so I'll be commentating on you in the Final.....maybe! I believe I am scheduled to play it in March. Good luck tonight. Posted by Tikay10

I love the structure if people are actually playing poker and going for the win! As there is no incentive to get any higher than 1 in 5 in a satellite it just ends up being the most boring thing alive. It's like having a tournament full of Tikay's...
What happens is you get 'short stacks' with 20bb's folding every hand, big stacks with 40bb's....folding basically every hand.
I qualified from one of the £2 jobbies so effectively I'm 'freerolling' tonight, first time in this comp too.

It's a very fine Tourney indeed, imo.
The SEMI-FINAL for this is TONIGHT, & so far, on a 1 in 5 thing, these are the Registrations.
Even this Semi-Final is well-structured - 4k chips, & 12 minute Blinds. Will be some semi, thhis.

PS - Well done on Finalling in the Nottingham UKIPT. You are my hero.
Oh, wait - that was Thomas, not you. My bad.
