Tips from Cliokid: Staying cool when coolered.

General poker tips:

Tip 1:

We all experience coolers now and again, we have to accept these. So my tip would be not to get too downhearted when you experience these and not tilt. STAY COOL AFTER A COOLER. You've been beaten by the deck, not by your opponent. So reload and focus on beating your opponent, and with a bit of luck it might be your turn to beat the deck too :-)

Tip 2:

To follow on from tip one, if you get too tilted by a single cooler, then you are playing above the limits you should be. Proper bankroll management will allow you to chill and give you the chance to reload and go on a heater :-)

Tip 3:

Try to keep emotion out of the game. If you are playing with emotion, you are not in the right frame of mind to be playing at this given moment. Chill out, take a break, then come back and play without the baggage.

THAT I can identify with. It's remarkably hard to do, in fact.

Sometimes, I play a Tourney & pre-decide that I will ONLY play a hand if I bring in a Raise.

Sounds easy - it's not. Makes an amazing difference though.

I wonder how much a serial-limpers figures could be improved if they tried doing that?

I love this post and I think that is the most important factor, and difference between having poker as a hobby or making a lot of money and turning pro!

I know this is my biggest leak ( of many ;)), but fail to overcome it again and again and again.
