Reason for not shoving pre is i thought only a hand that dominates me would call, should i have made 2,2 raise although probably doesnt make much difference to a min here

Also the above is not a bad beat thread although it was one in the end i think there is a few talking points

In this spot I would shove pre. We have less than 10 BB's, so shoving is definitely the best option imo.

Most times you will be pick up the 18k uncontested and happy days.

To answer your question of what to do on the flop. I would shove on this flop, the pot is 54k and your opponent only has 60k left, so you have to figure your A9 is good here because if they had any kind of pocket pair or bigger Ace, then they probably would have 3-bet all-in pre.

On the button with 10BB you should be shoving a fairly wide range if it's folded to you, just about any two cards will do if you have two tight players in the blinds. With your stack raise/folding is out of the question, so don't mess about min-raising, just push it all-in pre to maximise your fold equity. The only hands I might raise here rather then open shove are AA and KK, then I'm calling a re-shove obviously, or shoving at any flop if I'm flat called.
