Patience - allow some time to assess the opposition, the old adage of you can't with the tournament in the first level, but you can lose it. Pick your spots and be patient.

Position - play in/exploit position where possible.

Pot control - manipulate the size of the pot based upon the perceived strength of your holdings. Try and ensure your good (but not great) hands are for smaller pots than your very strong hands.
