Last 3 in a deepstack tourney with set of aces. Played right?

Right, final three left in this deepstack tourney, blinds are 1k/2k and i am sat in the big blind. Player'x' has been sat to my right for some time and always raises from here to steal. He was chip leader by a mile and bullied everyone around until bumping in to my pocket aces not so long before this hand. He has come across as slightly 'tilted' in the chat box since but has built some momentum and gained alot of chips back. This guy knows how to play and has given me most trouble in the whole tournament. This is what happened......

Right, my thinking on this is that 'x' has been raising me every time for the steal and with A,9 in my hand and with the big stack and 3-handed i have to re-raise here pre flop. He calls. Dream flop, or so i think and he min raises so away we go messing about with small re-raising. I obviously think i am good here as he doesnt move all-in so i think he has a possible flush draw.

The turn comes and i move him all-in thinking i must be in good shape and i have him covered. He out kicks me. I 'wp' him and he goes on for the win whilst i take 2nd place. Thoughts please?

    Always going in here UL

firstly its not a set its trips as you only have 1 ace in your hand a set is 2 in your hand and 1 on the board :P

i would prefer if u re-raised more pre if your going to  after that sort of plays itself

Even before I got to the bottom of the hand it screamed bigger A.  He may pop you on the flop with a PP to see what you do, but not again after that.  Sat pretty deep so tricky too.  I think I just go into check call mode after the flop

Judge, yes i know the min raising was bad. No excuse but he had set me all-in quite a few times and was sort of inducing that. Very poor, i know, no excuse.

Young gun, never knew that about sets and trips. Am new to the game, thanks for putting me right. As for the min reraise pre flop, he had raised me every time in this situation and the few times i re raised him he folded so thought it would be cheaper the way i played it. Your probably right tho.

AMYBR, i was worried about being outkicked but he had been real trouble throughout so thought it could be the best chance of getting rid of him. The other player was sat with 5/6 BB so thought it was worth the risk.

Thanks guys. Just trying to learn as much as i can.
