Was I right to risk my tournament?

This is late in a tournament. I've moved tables quite a bit and the villain has cropped up from time to time. He's done this move plenty of time before ie all-in pre-flop. He's showed his cards a few times and he's had rubbish. I know that when he's shoving here most of the time he has rag-rag. Was I right to risk my tournament with this call knowing what I know about my opponent?

yes raise/folding from a 9bb stack is super terrible. fwiw i would just jam preflop over the limp

Of course not. I'd be shouting at the screen and getting all excited that I'd doubled up :)

What we have here is the classic law of Murphy and Sod!
You called an all-in from a villain with "form" for shoving
with nowt - only on the occasion you have a slice, he's got
    something!
    :-(

on this occasion you done nothing wrong and almost everyone is either making that call or just shoving instead of raising. The one time i would say this is not worth doing is when you believe you can outplay your opponent and there are much more blinds in your pocket.
