What albums do you listen to whilst grinding at the tables?

Found out my walkman earplugs work on the PC too !  ;)

I've found a website that lets me listen to any album for free, it's legal too! (pm me if you want it) - I used to just make do with the music channels on sky but wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many adverts became annoying.

But I am definitely not a big music lover. The last album I bought was the first one that snow patrol ever made. And before that it was a Katie Melua album!!!

This week I've had clubland hardcore on loads, and also "the very best of the Grimethorpe Colliery band" (from the film 'brassed off' thrown in there!

I've added abit of the spice girls greatest hits for good measure, and I must have listened to them all at least 10 times each this week.

I need some help/advice/inspiration for some great grinding albums.

As you can tell nothing is off limits, from classical, to hardcore, I'm really not bothered. I also like old music, 60's n stuff. The album would preferably be a "best of" or some sort of compilation, so I recognise some of the songs.

What do you like to listen to whilst playing???

This is a serious thread btw, and poker related, so plz dnt move it, at least for today!

Merci ;)

Usually anything without lyrics (distracting!)...classical (mostly the big Bs), Jazz (miles, monk, the duke, that kind of era), post-rock stuff like Mogwai and GSYBE. If I feel I'm playing too passive I will occasionally put some very screamy rock or very sweary hip hop on to buck me up though.

Luckiest album: "Black Earth" by Bohren & der Club of Gore...downtempo german jazz, makes me play very disciplined :) Has come up on shuffle a few times when I've been at big final tables, if I were superstious I'd play it all the time.

I love to listen to all kinds of music from dance music, through to Kasabian, The Verve (especially their early stuff), Radiohead, The Stone Roses, The Rolling Stones, Guns n Roses (before it was just Axl and his ego), Katie Melua ( nice music and great to look at) The Knife (obscure electro band type thing), Captain Beefheart, Plastikman (aka Ritchie Hawtin), Jeff Mills, Joey Beltram and loads more electronic music acts that nobody will have heard of.

Eclectic tastes there senor...   There was recently a 500 albums that you should listen to before you die, kind of bucket list floating around, so I rather sheep like tried to listen to a lot of them whilst working and pokering.

My favourites from the list...(in no particular order)

Mumford & Sons - Sigh No More
    Beatles - revolver
Get Cape Wear Cape Fly - The Chronicales of a Bohemian Teenager
    Fleetwood mac - Fleetwood Mac
    Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt
Neil Young - On the beach
    Massive Attack - Mezanine
    The Doors - The Doors
Sam Cooke - Live @ harlem square club 1963

Just my 2p worth - nice thread btw.

    Cheers - Dan

Sennheiser do a great budget headphone called HD201, Fantastic sound quality for the price.

Is this the right place to confess my headphone obsession ? I've got about 10 pairs.

Showing your age with the Joey Beltram sir :)

You may be interested to know that Tesco, of all people, are selling own-brand Sennheiser C300 knock offs for a fiver right now. They sound EXACTLY the same.
