Last nights Primo, Around the bubble shove?

Ok i think its a standard shoving spot here, and am likely to do this with most hands vs Fins. My thoughts are he can only call me with 10s + and maybe AK

Would you wait for another spot here? 37 left, 30 paid... i was around 30ish but didnt want to just min cash and obv wasnt afraid to bubble

Also only cost £5 to get in so i could play with less fear, id say probably one of best games ive played with few good players on most tables of mine

Forgot to mention last 2 rounds i had no shoving spots as raisers before and garbage so i would have appeared very tight on the table

Pretty ul IMO, blind vs blind to walk into A's ,  standard spot 10 bb's. Nothing wrong with the shove just uber unlucky he has ACE'S..

Acouple of thoughts come to mind.

Firstly what was the reason behind the shove? to steal blinds or to get a double through. You said you were not after a min cash so you were presumably you were after a double through. Now Q7 although it is the average hand plays very badly against any possible calling range especially since his stack is not much more than yours. So this means that this is a very bad situation to be trying to get a double through.

Which leaves blind stealing.By coming out of the small blind you are risking your entire tournament to win one BB. Blind stealing is much better done from out side the blinds so the rewards are greater.

As it was were unlucky to run across a hand that could call you because in this situation his calling range would not be that wide. But for me i think i could find a better spot.

yep, also the difference between 30th and 11th in the primo is about £15 so it super important imo to be very aggro around the bubble stages to try and build a massive stack

This is so ul, because you have Fins' calling range too wide!! He's probably only playing a King and a King, and an Ace and an Ace. I wouldn't worry about it mate, if I beat myself up everytime this happened to me I'd never get out of hospital.

Yeah this is fine, his calling range should be a lot wider than in your OP though fwiw.

fine.  fins won't make this call without TTplus and AK maybe AQ suited.

that said if min cashing would be a significant percentage increase in your roll, then I can totally understand doing the whole nit folding while using the full 15 seconds time bar.

this should never be an issue if using any kind of BR managment and if it is its going to lead to -EV plays like folding in this spot

OP said that he had sat in for a fiver hence it may be a bigger BI tournie than usual.  IIRC a min cash in Primo is about 100-110 quid.

I do realise going for the win is the optimum strat whenever you enter a tournie, but there are certain situations where nitting it up and locking up the min cash has to be considered.

Ok thanks for your thoughts all, Talon no obviously i wasnt shoving to double through im not stupid lol its to win the blinds which is more then 10% of my stack so for me its win/win

Pryce I have added 10s & AK cos its vs me, he has seen me shove any 2 on a few occasions(in the past) so im sure we can give him a few more ;)

Ok so im not kicking myself at all just thought would be interesting discussion as all in all its just UL

Now to add a twist what range would you be shoving here? any 2, personally im prob shoving Jx-Ax or suited connectors. If im feeling lucky any 2 will do here tho (This is all player dependant and based on the stack sizes above)

On the Bankroll front it would increase my roll 25% but i am confortable with this play and there was no gurantee that i would find a better spot. FWIW i bubbled BH aswell (bad beat B v B A10 suited vs A6 suited they hit runner runner flush)  but again small amount due to sat, so min cashes could help but not the way i play anymore, I am very confident i will take one down sooner rather then later aswell

I dont like it as it leaves us with 5 BB left, which even if we double we are still in dangerzone, Shove or fold here against anyone with same stacksizes

with 9bb vs a tight villain id prob shove ATC apart from the odd misclick folding 23o due to mass tabling and not paying much attention

Haven't had time to read the other replies, but this is 100% a shove, unlucky to run into aces.
