Julian Thew Signs for Sky Poker

We are delighted to announce that Sky Poker has signed UK Poker Professional Julian Thew.

There will be a blog up soon with more information, but in the meantime, I'm sure you'll all join us in welcoming Julian to the Sky Poker Community!

Julian has been playing on the site recently under his familiar alias of 'yoyo'. Expect to see him onsite a lot more from now, in the community, at Sky Poker Tour events and on Sky Poker TV Channel 865.

It will be a great chance for us to all learn from one of the most talented poker players the UK has ever seen.

    Fantastic news, great move by Sky - WDWDWDWD

    Poker Stars loss is very much our gain.

    Great ambassador and well respected by everyone on the circuit!! 

    What great timing as well after his bink on the weekend, winning 60K at the Monte Carlo in DTD, shows the classo of the player!!

    So Whats in store for Julian? Is he just playing on here more, i assume Sky will buy him in tournaments, Is he going to a regular on our TV Screens as a analyst or every now and then as a guest

    About 8 or 9 years ago, when we all used to play the £enner Freezeouts & £iver rebuys in Gala Notts, he was given that moniker by a lad named Greg Hill.

    He used to have an extremely aggro game style, as a result of which his stack always used to go up & down like a......

    He is probably European poker's most liked & respected player, & the only one to win an EPT & TWO GUKPT's.

    Proper fish, though.

    Julian will be at SPT Leeds, & all the other SPT's.

    Look out for a Thewy based Tourney on Sky Poker soon, too.

    He won't be around much this week though, as he is in Dublin, playing the Irish Open.

    Julian will be on Sky Poker 2 or 3 evenings per week, & will play a selection of Tourneys, as well as a Thewy styled Tourney.

    He'll play the Hold 'Em cash games, too.

    Channel 865? About once per month, in a variety of ways. More than an analyst, I'd say. He featured in the Sky Poker UK Cash Game we filmed last week.

    He will play a bunch of Live Tourneys, mainly GUKPT's & UKIPT's.

    He will also play the WSOP Main Event, & help host all of our qualifiers in Vegas.

    He'll pen some blogs too, etc.,
