DISQUALIFY OR NOT

I AM PLAYING ON THE FINAL TABLE OF A LIVE £30 D/C FREEZEOUT. THERE ARE 6 PLAYERS LEFT WHEN THE SHORTSTACK UNDER THE GUN RAISES ALL IN.IT IS PASSED ROUND TO THE CUT OFF WHERE HIS MATE IS SITTING.A FEW WORDS ARE EXCHANGED IN ASIAN AND THE PLAYER ANNOUNCES HE IS FOLDING BECAUSE IT IS HIS MATE AND HE SHOWS POCKET TENS.THERE ARE 3 PLAYERS LEFT TO ACT. I STOP THE GAME AND ASK FOR THE PLAYER TO BE DISQUALIFYED.THE CARDFROOM MANAGER AGREES HES ACTED OUT OF ORDER AND MAKES HIM SIT OUT FOR 10 MINS.2 PLAYERS FOLD AND THE SMALL BLIND CALLS ON TILT BECAUSE OF THE DECISION WITH Q3 OFF.THE RAISER SHOWS POCKET 1O AS WELL BUT THE BLINDS HITS HIS Q .WHILE THE CHEAT IS AWAY FROM THE TABLE HE GUARANTEES LADDERING ANOTHER PLACE. HE GOES ON TO FINISH 3RD.I BELIEVE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED 6TH. I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING YOUR VIEWS.

    Bang out of order imo

    Softplaying so blatent that it deserves a disqualification.

    However as soon as we get universal rules ( it can't be that hard ) the better although i suspect this will never happen.

    It doesnt really make sense.  If he was softplaying his mate by folding TT, why would he show his cards.  I agree, it is out of order though. It all depends on the casino`s policy I suppose.

    Something similar happened to me, but turned out quite funny.  I was playing a £50 fo at a casino where there were loads of regs/mates, and I think I was one of the only ppl at the table who didnt know everyone.

    I raised utg with AK, someone in mp called, and one of the blinds called.  Flop came J62r, guy in the blind stares me down for ages and fires out a bet,  I fold, the guy in mp quickly shoves all his chips in the middle, but at the same time, the guy in the blinds was shouting `noooo`, but it was too late to take the chips back.  He said Ive got you beat, you shouldnt have done that, I was just trying to get him(me) out.  I Pmsl when mp showed JJ and blinds showed 66 and was crippled.

    The TD's decision was correct, we have to assume he is working to the Set of Rules used in that CardRoom.

    One of the goals of APAT (he "Amateur Poker Association & Tour") - of which I'm Chairman - is to get ALL CardRooms to adopt a set of Universal Rules. My colleagues, & the APAT Members, have been working hard towards this for 3 years now, & we are making good progress.

    By the bye, if I were TD in that Cardroom when that bloke did that, I'd have had him shot.

    ALL poker cheats - colluders, chip-dumpers, multi-acccounters - (especially the latter) would be, when I become, in the words of Radiohead.....

    When I am King, you will be first against the wall.......

    Of course, folks only cheat because they are not good enough to win fairly. Just play the game right, & You'll get more satisfaction than the cheats ever will.

    never played in a casino but cant believe this happens in a card game in a casino if it happend in the pub mischief would probably break out
