Really so annoying when i am playing my best poker to be beaten like this its just a complete waste of time, it happens so many times, i am playing like a rock and getting my chips in way ahead and getting the worst luck possible.

First one seems like a standard race, unless I am missing something? Bit brutal to hit a set and then get runner runnered, but it's all factored into that 50/50 they come up with on the coin flips.

Second one has got to tickle though...

You did all you could, which was getting your money in good. Job done. The luck will work both ways and when it does you'll win overall if you keep making winning decisions.

all i can say is it happens... i play prob a 1000 hands a day and like you play very much like a rock so the bad beats hurt... but keep at it and they'll stand up and just remember you WANT to be playing against people who'll call with ace rag when your holding 10 10, its about the best you can hope for if you get called tbh. Unfortunately thats tournament play for you, if you were playing cash then happy days reload and take that sucker down!! Keep doing the right things and over time you'll see the results. Worst thing you can do is "monkey see monkey do!!"

As Dave says, the first hand is a straight race when the money goes in and nobody is going to put down AK pre-flop in that situation.
I seem to recall Vanessa Rossou once winning a hand in similar fashion in a televised game - her comment was "it's all included in the 50%".

The second hand looks like a standard steal move by the T9 and he is then getting better than 2 to 1 to call the all-in so it's a pretty automatic call too in many player's mind (although not for a nit like me :-)  ).

You don't give the size of stacks and blinds for the TT losing to A5 but this is also VERY standard - certainly later in DYMs. The TT is going to lose more than 1 in 4 so it's really not that rare.

The guy with 9T may have been getting 2-1, but he was calling off most of his stack and would have been in the dead zone if he'd lost. Maybe the 2-1 made it a call in a cash game (but that's debatable); in a DYM this is not a good play.
