Get in the Hole! (MAY 12th-15th)

PGA Tour: Players Championship

Rory Sabbatini @ 80/1. An excellent 3rd place last week where he improved with every round 72 71 66 65. Already a winner on tour this year, he is striking the ball well and giving himself plenty of birdie opportunities.

Next two bets are a gut feel. I think both the Molinari’s will have a good week. Edoardo shot an impressive 68 in the final round last week and looked in good touch. Francesco finished T9th in this event last year and has been getting in plenty of practice for this week. Great prices for both here.

Edoardo Molinari @ 100/1

Francesco Molinari @ 90/1

European Tour: Iberdrola Open

Paul Lawrie @ 25/1. Stand-out pick this week is Lawrie with his T5th last week and 1st in his previous event. He is a class act in this under strength field on what will be a very tough scoring course (Par 70).

Marcel Siem @ 125/1. Great value here consider the poor strength of the field. Very much a confidence player, a good start in the first round and he has a decent chance this week. Big price for a player that has won on tour.

Claret font FTW!!

Good luck.

Agree with you with Sabbatini playing really well but wont be backing him cos think hes a bit of a knob and cant cheer on someone I dislike,so mine are as follows;Hunter Mahan(again)@40/1 finished well on sunday after a poor start.Martin Kaymer @33/1 dont know why cos out of form but like you say splashies just got a feeling and hes a class act.Jason Day@50/1 cos again think hes class and doesnt seem to bottle it like a lot of players. Finally Aaron Baddeley@66/1 purely cos backed him a few times and price seems too big. Will probably back a couple of outsiders but will post later.

I haven't really watched much golf recently so not up to date on who is playing well and who isn't.

I really rate K.J Choi, he is so consistant, always there or there abouts so I've back him £5 e/w @ 40/1

Matrin Laird, in some good form from what I have watched and could be a good outsider £5 e/w @ 66/1

Phil Mickelson. Can you ever bet against this guy? Always up there in the big tournies. £10 e/w @ 14/1

Rickie Fowler. This guy is going to score big soon. I really rate him but he needs to stop dressing like a tard! £5 e/w @ 60/1

Robert Karlsson. I don't think this guy is in good form this year, but I used to back him all the time. Really like him and he could upset the odds this week. £5 e/w @ 125/1

Martin Laird at 66/1 is too big a price IMO and just as a random yank outsider (there's always one that does well) I'd plump for Charles Howell III at 150/1 I think

    No pressure

Just wanted a bet for a bit of interest and didn,t have time to start studying the form of all the players and I,ve read your posts on golf before and know I,m, getting value at least

I can,t understand why sergio Garcia is consistantly low priced ( in golf terms) when he,s never really fulfilled the potential he showed as a rookie

Tbh anyone who backed Woods at the mo deserves to lose imo, madness.Just looked at my unsettled bets and for some unknown reason didnt back Mahan like I said I would but did back Watney @40/1 for a £1.50 e/w even though I cant for the life of me remember doing it.Tbh though would prefer Kaymer as worth a few hundred but a long way to go yet. Will prob back a couple of others over the weekend as a saver if still going ok.

I didn't back Sabatini to start with as I wasn't sure how he would bounce back from narrowly losing last week. But by the looks of things he has started where he left off, so put £20 on him @ 20/1

EDIT** He has been pushed out to 25/1. Great value IMO, you can even back him E/W still with those odds!!

Sabbatini has had a bad start to the final round.

Just put £5 ew on Davis Love III @ 25/1. Pays top 3 at 1/4.

I reckon his experience will be key here and he looked good this morning! Currently T5th.
