Then again, it's an MTT and you only have 99. You could fold and wait for a better spot. Is this an example of implied odds? You are most likely behind but there is the chance to stack the other player with the right kind of flop

you definitely are not deep enough to setmine imo
I would fold, he doesnt seems to raise much (from notes you give),and I expect him to fold very little of the range you flip with. If he opens a decent amount of time its a clear shove imo, I dont hate shoving anyway
