Sick river - villain has 2% equity

I'm still running bad in MTTs, as demonstrated by this hand.

In this Bounty Hunter tournament I'm chip leader, the villain in this hand is second in chips. We get it all-in on the turn. There is 22K in the pot, the average stack is less than 5K. He is drawing to 2 outs for the chop, Pokerstove tells me he has 2.2% equity. He can't win the hand. He gets there and we chop.

    Perfect against this guy. He's been defending his big blind 100% of the time with any two cards to 2.5x and 3x opens. My raise gets the SB out of the way and I get to play a pot against a mega-fish in position with a medium strength hand for a cheap price.

    Fair argument.  The min bet pre is just one of my pet hates, really grinds on my nerves.

    Looking at the hand the other way tho, your min bet is called by a dominating hand, could have spelt all kinds of trouble but ends up a chop.  5% river surely? Qh +Qc?.

    The journey is a tad gross :)

    Yh minraise pre is ugly and tbh I don't like the flop call.

    Hmmmm what's wrong w/ the min raise?

    I'd prob make it 180/200 .... ? But not much difference.

    Flop call is questionable but if you think he puts the lot in w/top pair if u get there, your implied odds can justify it.

    And obv u cnt fold if the turn is A/9 of spades if u're calling the flop, and u didnt, so fair doos.

    All looks ok to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    I usually avoid criticising opponents, but I need to point out that the villain in this hand was a pre-flop calling station who'd built his stack by getting very lucky more than once after getting his chips in light, as you can see he considers top pair to be the nuts. His method of play got him eliminated from the tournament soon after this hand, unfortunately it wasn't me who got to relieve him of his stack. You won't see me using button min-raises ordinarily, it was the best play this time because the villain was defending his BB against any raise size from any position, my bet size was chosen purely to get the SB out of the pot, which it succesfully did. As for the flop call, I had 3/1 immediate odds with much higher implied odds, I'm deep enough to make that call and it's a price worth paying when I know I'm probably going to get the guys stack and bounty if I hit one of my outs, also I'd have the luxury of a stack 3x bigger than anybody else in the tournament.

    id rather minrase vs nits and make it 3/4x vs loose players but run better!

    Really?  I just hate the min, it gives you the betting lead but offers no protection.  It just really grinds on me.
