keep it as it is in terms on general coverage as it gives people a nice experience of being shown on the tv asked questions and recieve rubdowns lol.
Tikay mentioned a feature table perhaps, i like the idea, maybe run it on every final table, this can then all be edited and commentated on for a seperate show to be shown on 865, would be pretty cool. be amazing for those who final table one of them. I know the live stream captures everything as it happens, but a more in depth look at he final table would be good.
Structure:
I like the idea of them being 2 day events, it means the overall structure can be changed, deeper starting stacks, slightly longer blind levels etc. also lots of people have asked for events on the sunday, if the SPT is 2 days then players will have friends possibly still in the tournament come sunday and so they can play the side event whilst the SPT continues. would also give people the incentive to make it an even longer weekend. me personally i always like to get back for the big sunday games but if i made day 2 of the SPT event i would be delighted.
I think the Grand Final could be huuuuuge next year, mega! advertise it everywhere, the chance for sky to get their name out further and to attract players to come and play the grand final thus hooking them with the site. dont make it a weekend, make it a 5 day festival of poker. running different tournaments throughout the week in build up to the main event. players come from everywhere to play these festivals, sky's could be the same. the main event could even become a 3 day event, same structure as the gukpt etc. then have big side events running on the days 2 and 3
League:
The league idea suggested would be pretty cool, with prizes for the top say 10 overall prizes ranging from TSP membership, entries to the next years tour, tournament entries etc.
I imagine that SPT Rich and yourself already know of all the venues in the UK capable of holding a SPT, so doubt there are any more casinos in the UK that are gonna be 'new' to the tour.
One thing that I think would be good is to have a live streamed cash table running on the Friday night. Make sure that only Sky poker players can play at the table too.
Love LOL Raise suggestion - Creates alot of interest and incentive to turn up to all the events!
I think that due to poularity of the tour it now needs to progress to a decent structure tournament with a day 2 like nearly all other UK tours running at the mo. I beleive a price hike to £220 per turny with the final being between £350- £500 would generate much bigger prize pools and therefor interest from alot of people who are not interested in giving up a weekend for a 100 buyin turny. Also if it is a 2day event you could increase numbers to 200-250 as I am sure there is the demand there.
If you make it a 2 day event this also means you could run a smaller turny on Sunday as suggested by several above. This could be a much more affordable affair for everyone involved - £25 dc or something like that. And if you start at 12pm -2pm it should finish early enough to enable people to travel home sun night.
I know some poeple would say higher buyins are prohibitive to some. However for me the buyin is only a third at most, of the cost of the weekend. So if the prize pool was so much higher(attractive) the cost of hotel/ travel etc would be less of a hinderence to whether I go or not.
venues: previously used: blackpool / manchester / newcastle / nottingham / luton / birmingham / cardiff new suggestions: sheffield / stoke / london Live stream: keep it as it is in terms on general coverage as it gives people a nice experience of being shown on the tv asked questions and recieve rubdowns lol. That, Hursty, is SCARY. Do you have a spy in our camp? So much of that is in our thinking, broadly speaking
Shame you don't play K-K as well as you make predictions.....
One thing that I think that should be scrapped are 'celeb' guests. People that are connected with Sky Poker are cool but would far rather see seats being made available for loyal Sky Poker customers than a random who just turns up cos its free seat.

Without sounding arrogant, yes, between us, Tighty & I are familiar with all suitable UK Venues, & there are not many (beyond those we already use) that fit the bill. A few are, though....
People will ALWAYS ALWAYS suggest the Venue nearest to their home, which is perfectly natural, & understandable. But we have to think of everyone, not just the "homers".
Friday night streamed Cash Game? That's a right wowzer!
some great comments on here already...i'd just like to add that i think the last two tables should get paid in a 150 runner main event. oh & is it really necessary for tikay to wander around without his leash on, calling in 2 outers & the like? Posted by yoyo
i.e The start of July which will give about 10 weeks for qualification rather than the 6 if they do not start untill after the Cardiff leg is done and dusted.
(I realise this is NOT a 2011/12 item but maybe something could be looked at for next year like winning a token for a SPT leg of your choice and not just the next one coming up)

We actually discussed this yesterday morning, Alan.
A few points.....
1) We think, for a normal SPT, 7 weeks is more than enough time for qualification - all seats usually go within 3 weeks. For a Grand Final, yes, longer is better.
2) There are no objections within the Company to starting Grand Final Satellites....
a) Immediately after Cardiff takes place. (Late July)
b) Immediately all Cardiff seats have been won. (Likely to be late this week, early next week).
No firm decision was reached, but I think it will more likely be b) than a).
Factors to take into consideration are (is?) that there is (are?) a lot of other new, un-announced stuff, in the pipeline, & we need to balance all these things carefully so they don't cannibalise each other.
Winning SPT "tokens" to Events of players choice, rather than "the next one". I quite like that, though it produces quite awkward back-office problems, but not insurmountable. It will definitely be considered, along all the other excellent suggestions in the Thread.
I know London has always been a problem for big events because there was only ever the Vic which was big enough and they have grumpy regulars who don't like having their sleep disturbed by people actually enjoying poker. There's also the cost of hotels and parking.
However, depending on the schedules, may be worth looking at the Hippodrome at Leicester Square. I know it suffers from still being a building site and won't be opening till later in the year, but may be one for the notebook.

Thanks Andrew, & yes, it's on the "we plan to take a look" list.
PS - What a wonderful description of The Vic, & some if it's (ex) regulars! Do you remember Mr "One Seat heeeeere"? I think he's in prison, now, for fraud & embezzlement!
Please consider running some daytime semi-finals, maybe one per week. I'm pretty sure they'd attract enough interest to fill a seat or two. Surely it's worth trying, there's no need to put up a guarantee or anything like that. I'd like to try and win a seat for Cardiff but I'm unable to play in the evening semis, so I'm effectively excluded from participating in the SPT due to my work hours, others must be in the same boat as me.
BTW The Leeds live stream was superb, I can't praise it highly enough, more of the same would be great.
some cracking suggestions here which i'm sure tikay, tighty and the others will give careful consideration.
Venues - stop whinging about travel distances!!!! grrrr my nearest this year was Newcastle and that was 6 and 1/2 hrs by train..........I would love to see the tour reacing new places distributed equally throughout the British Isles (Ireland anyone - oh my). Whilst 3 events of the 5 in the North was handier for me, I can appreciate an inbalance. So my suggestions for locations would include Bristol, Brighton, Dublin, SCOTLAND (lets not make it the SkyPoker England Tour).............personally 9 events plus a final would work for me with the venues distributed accordingly............1. Scotland/Shetland......2. Ireland. 3-4. The North..(Newcastle,Leeds,Bolton,Manchester, Liverpool, etc)...........5-6. The Midlands (stoke, Walsall, coventry etc) 7. Wales/South-West ( Cardiff,Swansea, Bristol, Swindon??? ) 8-9. The South ( Luton, London, Brighton, etc)
And Lisa-Marie is a MUST.
When i am not away working, I will always do my utmost to attend these events.
Carry on the good work SPT and all those associated with it
ps enjoy Cardiff and see you all sober at Nottingham

Just wondering if Sheffield G could be a possibilty of holding the SPT next Year?

The thread has found its legs now. Keep it coming - it's absolutely superb.
