Hand from fairly early in last nights mini open. Villain had been quite active early doors.

Is my half pot bet on the flop OK and I've just been unlucky, or have I paid the price for leaving villain in the hand?

Bet size on the flop is fine.
Having seen his hand, you want him to call.... in fact, given that you have the nuts, with a redraw to a better hand, we aren't frightened of anything here, and want people to tag along.

Generally, betting half to two thirds of the pot on the flop is never that bad (dependant on how many players in pot, type of opponents, position, stack sizes etc...). If we are using the same sizing for both good hands, and stabs at the pot, we can take a few pots down quite cheaply.

You got your chips in good... just unlucky.

call pre is pretty marginal 50BB deep imo

bet more on flop for value, especially as there are tonnes of action killers can come on turn. I dont like betting 1/2 pot 3way with a monster

Flop I'd personally bet more, at least 300 mainly so the pot can get built faster.

TBH on turn when he bets out I would be slightly concerned that a bigger flush has hit but surely he'd check the made hand so shove is fine, then you got sucked out on.

EDIT : Yh just noticed pre is snap fold.

You called a standard raise from the button for about 8% of your stack with 89h. Nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong with folding either. Marginal this one. With one other caller in there, your call is probably right.
Bet size on flop is fine.

    You were just unlucky.

Hey, cant see much wrong with this, i would probably do a pot size bet on the flop as i'd be worried about the flush

i would then fold after he bets pot on on turn with the heart hitting

im surprised he called the all in(well actually i'm not) when he was only hoping to hit a heart.

think u was unlucky here mate.
think ur unlucky the heart hit

Just an awful click and pray call by villain, i throw up in my mouth a little :p

Pre flop is really marginal (the call) but with the money in there its not awful, but you are sat a tad shallow to peel here.

With 3 going to the flop I likely bet slightly more than half pot, but having flopped the SCN with the option to improve, is very tempting to go for uber value over 3 streets.

Guy opens turn, you put him in, nb.  He click call prays.  Really gross. Guy has a massive 6 outs and binks.

Pre, marginal (tad spewy), flop fine, turn what more can you do?  Sick board, very few boards do your stack here, C/F mostly.  VUL to connect so well and get rickrolled :p
