whats the best way to play freerolls? do you sit and pick your hands and play tight? or play like most of the others (loose) and try and build a stack early on? any advice welcome, thanks

Unlucky, But in a free roll i would not have gone all in with KK due to the fact there are so many fish that will call you with any Ace, A simple three time raise would do then if you are called you see the flop 64J now you shove all in there is no way he can call. he should be putting you an AJ or JJ. You should be getting a good read on all players by the time you reach blinds of 200 so click on a player and leave a note.
My tip first hour sit tight only play big hands in position second hour loosen up start to call connecting suited cards e.g 56 78 10 J. make sure you are in position before you bet. Remeber You will win 8 out of 10 big hands if you are all in e.g AA KK QQ Good luck
The advice above is all good, my additional tip is 'don't rebuy or add-on'. If you do either it's no longer a freeroll, you will probably need a top 10 finish out of 100s of runners to make a profit. Most players who rebuy or add-on end up actually losing money in a tournament they only entered because it was free.

Generally I'd agree with this. However, having watched & played more than my fair share lately I'd say "it depends".
If you've qualified free with 3/400 runners and you make break in say top 10% AND are enjoying the play I'd say buy some more chips for 50p. If you're watching lobby it can sometimes "take you out of trouble". I know everyone can buy so this doesn't always work! Freerolls are great experience! Just my 2p worth. pad

i would take that any day of the week, freeroll or not
Hi m8 I've cashed in quite a few but have never used rebuy. best place 3rd. best way is to only play premium hands or connectors early on.use position - i see quite a few hands cheaply on button or in big blind which aren't premium just to see.sometimes you can do well. about 2/3rds or 3/4s are gone by first break alot of the time. let them knock each other out
with the hand - t would have called aswell. always going to try and win the tournie so in that position you've got to go for it. just unlucky.

If the table is playing tight, then play loose!
Scotty has given great advice imo. Doing the opposite to the majority of the players at your table is always a good idea.
