Reasons not to play 9-7 off.

Having had AA cracked by 9/7 I noticed that there seemed to be a growing trend to playing it.

Whether this is how not to play it, an example of it being badly played or a reason not to play it at all I'm not sure.

He had been doing it quite often until he got a big slap and left the table.

Any comments gratefully received.

TBF its a cooler, he has the 5th nuts.  As often as not chopping the boat.

I doubt he gets as involved otherwise.

    NH tho :p

Fair enough guys. He did have a good think about whether to call my re-raise allin though. I just thought I'd like to show off my quads now I know how.

You just don't hit em often enough not to. lol

if he tank called you that's a slowroll lol

he can't possibly put you on quads, KK or K9 (and he has the 4th nuts surely, not 5th?).

In all fairness, villain played the hand well apart from not squeezing bigger pre- he should have popped it up to £2/£2.50 if he wanted to get involved in position. The call on flop is fair enough, and once he hits that turn+river he's always going broke. NH though, mbn to get quads and get paid.

    Thanks Deuces.

Yes, I wasn't sure if he was slow rolling me or thinking, "not KK surely."

Either way like you say it was still nice to get paid.

villains min raise pre is spew

    his flop call is spew

his river raise is prob bad. His call of massive 3bet is pretty bad imo also unless hero is a fish or bluffs a **** of a lot, no way its a slowroll he is beat a lot here

He certainly liked to play, shall we say a wide choice of hands. Down from 180 to 20.

I think the turn more or less screwed him. I expect he would have folded without that second 9 having maybe put me on a K.

    Then again, you never know.
