have to call?????

firstly should i have raised more pre, maybe 600?

once i raise the flop (how was the size of my raise, good? bad?) and get shoved on surely i must call or do i let it go????

i had been on the table with the villain for about 30 mins and his flop play was often aggressive.
i'm unsure what to think of the raise, a flopped straight is out of the question, which leaves a set or an overpair, however he did limp in which i doubt he would do with an overpair. he may limp in with 44 66, or he could have an OESD A5, or just be using his stack to bluff me thinking i had missed the flop???

snap it off??? should i consider folding here??? help, advice and abuse all welcome lol
this is a similar post to the recent thread saying fold aa?, and i posted saying snap call! so i guess i must here?

    1. im making it 600 at least pre, with 1 limper, but prob 750ish, maybe 900+ on fishy table.

    2. im stacking off on flop as played. But, i think i would flat call the flop with a view to getting it in on the turn. I think 55 looks like a real possibility for the villain.

I would make it 600 pre, maybe more at a call happy table

    On flop:
    1. Decide what you are doing if he 3bets before you raise
    2. Raise/fold seems really bad to me unless you have a cast iron read he calls with lots of worse hands and only raises better. Otherwise you turn AA into a bluff
    3. If you are not prepared to get it in, call />>>>>>raise on flop

I am happy  enough to get it in against this player given your reads, he has worse often enough, particularly if he can have stuff like 88,99, A7. He'll also have 55,98, pair + draw hands etc often so its a clear call given pot odds imo

    defo bigger pre ..!!

on the flop he has a hand he's not gettin away from over pairs are not likely.... i think bulkk of his range is pair plus draws.. 55 56 45 57 ...... also 2 pairs and sets are in his range but the stronger his hand i think GENERALLY his likne is gonna be c/raising the flop rather than leading..!
also raise folding this is a noo noooo.!! snap it off and hope to dodge sum of his outs..!!

i raised on the flop with the intention of never folding but his shove did make me wonder

i did call, i had to really the way i played it, i was just curious to know i there was ever a case for folding there??

anyone fancy a guess at the villains hand??

    Did he have A7?

He flatted the pre when usually agg so maybe testing the strength of his A..
You never shoved on flop so he possibly discounted big overpair and straight so leaving him thinking he was sitting top pair with A kicker and reverted to agg with the all in.

If im not right then I want a refund on the 'Become A Psychic In A Week' Ebook I have spent 3 weeks reading! I'm looking forward to hearing the answer and finding out if it was a .99p well spent.

    Ok Ebooks out the window...

Not only did I get it wrong, I took so long reading the tea leaves you had already posted the answer...

Oh well crystal ball next then for me....

Given the 44 and his stack and previous agg plays, I think you would have had to raise closer to 2400 to get him off those.
