Just got home from the 6max - my rollercoaster had less ups and downs than Don's. All up up up in the first session, got dealt AK no less than 6 times and got paid each time, and busted or crippled most of the table by 1st break. Chip leader joins our table after the break and my first hand I flop a set and turn a full...he stays with through 2 pot size bets and the river brings him a third King to make a bigger full. Dooooowwwwn we go. C'est la vie.
Brownndog on just above average when I exited I think, LjamesL probably CL or not far off it, so hopefully we'll have a winner from Sky anyhow!

8.52 pm: Williams on the rail I just bumped into James Williams who is currently nursing a tumbler of apple juice* having got mangled in two grim hands a couple of levels ago. He first turned a straight at the same time as Keith Hawkins made a full house and then shortly after he got in with A♦Q♦ against kings. Tough lines for the cash game player - get back online

Dannymcs, are you going for the bigger side event today? Sat for it at Aspers at 4PM.
Depends if it's late reg, I'm just going to bed so the chances of me making it in for 4PM are fairly slim. I'll be along at some point though, if only to see gaz walker chew his way through those big names

np m8. Ill be in orange or the hoody i had on at the SPT if you can find me. Late reg might be possible as it is a turbo rebuy, although maybe late reging for tht isnt a good idea.
I bubbled the sat was 4 key hands. Guy raises from MP i have 12K average is 11.6k so just above. He has 8k. hes raised to 2.4K not realising his stack behind i flat KQo. Flop KQx. I ask how much he has and realising hes commited i shove, he snaps, QQ. OOps. Turn K. Im 2nd in chips after this.
A little while later folded to me in CO. I shove 33. BTN calls AK, hits flush. I blind down badly, and shove my 3BB stack with 99. AQ calls but only has 8.5K, 1K less than me. Theres 2 people to go till a seat and i see someone walkin away so this was now the bubble. A is the first card out. Im left with 1K and BB gets moved, im BB with 1/3 of a BB to put in. I dont even loook guy shoves and shows KJ. I flip mine over to my delight 55, flop A67. Turn A, river 7. Possibly the cruelest way to lose a flip.
Good news comes however. Dad donated me 20% before the event as part of a deal of taking 30% of me. Hes made the money and will return tomorrow.
Updates from UKIPT blog on dad.
6.55pm: Premium versus Premium From middle position Donald Elliot opened to 6,000 and when it folded to Lars Stockenschneider in the small blind he moved all-in, Elliot made a quick call.
Stockenschneider: J♣J♦ Elliot: Q♥Q♠
The dealer dealt the flop one card at a time and it fell J♠4♥Q♦ and both Stockenschneider and Elliot went through a raft of emotions. The turn was the 9♣ and the river was the 6♥. The stacks were counted down and Elliot's all-in was for 38,100, Stockenschneider was left with around 17,000. -- NW
Nice read Don wp Richard Hawes is a player I come across a fair bit on the Leeds poker scene, he is a very good player and usually has backing for these events Dave Posted by SolarCarro
Richard Hawes certainly seemed like a decent bloke. I spoke to him on Thursday and wished him luck for the rest of the weekend but he certainly seems a very good guy. I spoke to Brett Yesterday aswell and he also seemed like a good guy.
Great experiance for me to have and its really boosted my poker knowledge and i loved every min of it. Dad is back today although im not sure if im going down.
2.10pm: Three early exits Three players are already out and have been whisked away to the payouts area to collect their £750, they are: 72nd: Martin Amer, 71st: Marc Humphrey and 70th: Donald Elliot . -- NW
