It's the £300 Deepstack at DTD this weekend, a 2 day Event that attracts all the big boys in poker, for which an amazing 316 runners turned up yesterday. Amongst them were Bracelet winners such as Micky Wernick, GUKPT winners such as Tony Phillips, Vegas veteran J T Law, SPUKT Leg One Winner Maria "Chili" Demetriou, APAT Pro-Am Winnr Neil Blatchley, & others too numerous to mention.

Of the 316, 53 survived into Day Two, which begins at 2pm today. The average stack is 60,000, & Blinds begin at 1,200-2,400 with a 200 RA, on a 45 minutre clock.

36 get paid, & there is £29,000 to the winner.

THIS man is the Chip Daddy.....

Steven Battye   13   7   146800

He told me after play finished that he only began playing poker a year go, after watching the Sky Poker Show, & he is still an avid watcher, & player, of Sky Poker.

Let's hope Battye continues to batter them.

    Meanwhile, my efforts for the day can be sunmed up thusly, if we can revert to horse-racing parlance.

    Slowly away, always behind, fell asleep, soon tailed off, unable to go pace, stayed on in late stages under severe pressure.

    I'm very pleased, to be honest, but let's get Battye over the line first today - that'd be pretty neat.

    Good Luck him.

    tikay will play his usual game, sleep til late, and then come with a surge, dont be surprised to see him on the FT.

    Go Battye, go tikay, hope you enjoyed your rest :)

    ALL the big boys in poker...?

    Well, a FEW of them are at the Hilton Metropole this weekend :-)

    Incredibly, there were 730 runners in EPT London - a new record for a UK tournament!

    Prizepool = £3.5m
    First prize = £850,000

    Good luck to all the British players left in the hunt - and good luck to "Anthony" and Steven up in Nottingham!
