    Just fold the flop, think about it, you've called the flop, and folded to another bet when a harmless card drops, just save your money and fold in advance. Think about what your plan is for the hand and how you're going to play each street.

    i called the flop bet to hope he slowed down on the turn and get to a cheap showdown

    You're hardly ever going to be good at showdown if he bets into you here, because it's unlikely he's donking into you with a 10, probably 2nd pair with a draw, QJ/QK - either way you're beat! 
    if there was only one overcard i'd fully agree in calling one street, but not with two and several draws
