Poker, Blackjack, what else...? [Poll]

Morning all :)

I was sat on the bus on the way to work this morning thinking this English weather really is naff. Still, I am off to Vegas in a few days for a holiday and was thinking about the plan of action for when I get out there.

Plan of Action:

Poker, obviously.
I love poker: playing, watching, writing, whatever. This is going to be a great chance to get back to the tables, and it's been a while since I've played a proper tournament, so looking forward to that. Going to do the Venetian for sure, and a bit of the old school stuff too - perhaps a tourney at Binions?

Blackjack
Yeah, I know it's a house game and I am playing a -EV proposition. Thing is though, you can't play JUST poker in Vegas. I know a bit of basic blackjack strategy and heard something about card counting which means I must be alright playing a little Blackjack. I have played a bit in the past, see some skill in it and so that's me spending a bit of time on that.

Three Card Poker
It's a bit like poker, and I know a bit about poker. Must be a slightly smarter way for me to have a flutter, right?

Roulette
The only way I ever win at poker is through unadulterated luck, which means roulette has got to be my game. I normally steer clear of numbers, instead betting on the outside. All of it, red. (Always seems to come up black when I do that, but hey ho).

Craps
Now, THIS is a game. Good enough for Ivey and Cloutier to spend a few quid on, I have finally sat down and bothered learning the rules. Action game, and lots of it. Still not a good proposition, but pretty exciting stuff especially when you - or someone else at the table - is on a heater.

My question to you lot then is this: Which casino games do you play? Why do you play them? Which ones do you reckon you'd try your luck at and which would you avoid like the plague? I've stuck a poll up because I'd like to know which games us poker players stray to when down the casino...

Oh, and the weather really IS naff. Roll on Vegas.

Played some Roulette and Blackjack at the gala casino in bristol on Friday (as well as poker) Did ok on Blackjack.. only played for a small amount of time with £25. got it to £35 before my tourney started... Finished 5th!! in my tourney out of 96, happy days, then went and lost my £35 on Roulette.. But hey ho, i still had my winnings from the poker... Much prefer BJ as there is a bit of skill in it... But if you want to win big, you have to go on Roulette

I don't know why but I run like treacle at roulette. Seriously, if you thought you'd lost a lot of those AK v 88 kind of hands, you've seen nothing until you've watched me go at it on the red/blacks. *facepalm*

You're right though, roulette is so much better for a quick spin-up.

BJack for sure, basic strategy can be applied to lessen the odds in favour of the House. Still in their favour but it means a winning run is more likely.

    Roulette - mugs game! lol

    Hi Dave

Play Texas Hold Em Bonus, same as normal holdem but you only have to beat the dealer, play a chip on the bonus and if you are dealt a pair, AJ, AQ, AK and better still suited ones you get an instant payoff, I hit AK suited for 25-1 in Vegas!! If you get AA and the dealer gets AA you are paid 1000-1 and I did see it happen (although player was not playing the bonus! Dohhhhhhh)

Good fun table game but quite hard to win at! (Casino Royale, O'Sheas and Excalibur had good minimums for this and I am sure downtown will too.)
