Bet sizing - self analysis!

Yeah, its me again! I try and go over my hand history when I have a bit of time during the day. Not every hand but ones I recall I may have done summit wrong (or sometimes even right!) I only have time to play one 3/4 tounreys a week so it's relatively easy.

Do the regs do this?  I realise some play a LOTTTT of hands so possibly not?  IS this time well spent? At a guess I spend maybe 30/40 minutes.

Anyway, played a hand last night and made a mental note to check it..

My self analysis on the hand below is.

1. I SHOULD have bet 1200 pre.
2. Bet bigger on the flop?
3. c/r bigger on turn?
4. not sure tho on river -poss check

I realise the outcome may NOT have changed but curious to know your thought?

    Reads on villains would help

    Why are you betting flop?

    Why are you c/r turn?

The answers to these question affect your bet sizing a little, but in general dont openlimp, flop bet can be smaller, should rarely be bigger,  if you are c/r turn it should be bigger

I wouldn't be opening with A9o here unless you think you have a big edge postflop or the blinds are very nitty, but if you do want to open a 4x raise with these stack sizes is absolutely huge, a ~ 2.5x raise size is much better imo.

On the turn what are you trying to achieve by c/raising?

Sorry, i'd just moved to the table so no reads.

I wasn't sure about my analysis hence the Q marks after.  I realise the openlimp was BADD. What message does a smaller bet on flop say? Should I have checked it?

If your playing this hand open raise 2.5 or 3x blind the flop i great so i would check it to him ti disguise your hand then i would 4/4 bet turn and then value bet the river so somewhere between half pot to 3/4 pot.
However i would fold this hand pre in your posistion i tend not to play A 678 or 9 deep in MTTS unless shoving or stealing

Don't open limp..... raising is ok, and folding is also fine.

Don't limp UTG with A9, raise or fold.

I would prob fold this pre, if raising I make it 900, maybe a little less sometimes

Flop I prob check, if I bet it depends what I'm doing if raised but I would go about 2/3 pot here. If villains are stations you can bet bigger, up to pot

Turn, I assume you are c/r for value (which I think is a bad idea), I would make it at least 3K, maybe a little more

River if you did c/r for value, I dont see much to do other than shove
