As for the flouncing off thing, lets face it, no team has the spirit we have. Some may jump ship, but they never achieve the success they have had when they were on this team.
I would like to say that since I was invited to join TPT, I have had lots of laughs, which it is all about, and lots of success(mainly due to my luckbox according to Scorps).
Mr B will testify that we all help each other and see each other through the dark periods, in poker, and in life in general.
What I most like about TPT is the cameraderie. Nice people, good players, and lots of support.
So basically what I'm saying is your stuck with me, although Trev may want to give me a free transfer after my DTD performance on Monday(Not my fault skip, Scorps dented my luckbox)
PS. Can we get Waller back, I was on hols when he left, and don't know what happened.
Just popped in to wish you all luck on the tables today as i`m not sure if i`ll be around tonite.
I am off to London in a couple hrs blooming hospital again though it`s nothing to worry about as most of know i`m a heamophilia so it`s just a routine jobby, blood test ( if my veins comes out hiding) ect.
I will also find out if i need to see a specialist about the old back as last time a scan showed that i had a slight slipped disc, with luck the excersise has popped it back in, if not could mean a minor op, never mind.
It`s more of the travelling that knackers me out so if don`t see on tables good luck all.
Although i do hope to be back in time try and sat into main event, we`ll see ???

Last night I had a bit of a shock in the mini. About 20 mins in and I get pocket jacks and this happens. To say I was surprised by the call when I saw their hand is an understatement. The player concerned is a well known name on here and even went to Vegas with Sky a couple off years ago and did rather well. Just shows you there are fish at all levels.

I get what your saying JJ and I know I played it 100% corrrect. Without giving their name I know they were in this cos they were in the main too as this is way below their bankroll. So I assume they were in this for the bonus. So why risk going out so early? They must have known they were well behind. Post flop they obviously put me on AK, AQ. They just got lucky on the river. Hi Dagg Let me explain this hand as it's something that is becoming more common.
Here Goes: The blinds are only 15/30 - You raise 8 x BB = 240. If you raise this much, it gives information about your holding cards and is very similar to shoving pre-flop. If a player shoves pre-flop it can tell us a couple of things about his hand..... 1: He has the nuts AA or even KK, QQ or 2: He has a low to mid pocket pair in which case he doesn't want a caller, so either shoves or over inflates the raise pre-flop.
But in both cases we have narrowed the oppo down to a pocket pair. Now armed with this information, a good solid player will call with any 2 - WHY? you may ask. Well we now know oppo has a pair Low/Mid or High, its still only a pair, which means he really only has (2 outs) or 2 chances of improving his hand, whereas we have a much bigger chance of improving our holding cards even with any 2.
It makes it much easier for our oppo to call our inflated raise or shove with any 2 cards because, we have armed him with the information that we have a pocket pair. So to address the problem, we need to make sure we don't give this information away, so don't over inflate the raise, 3-4 x BB is usually sufficiant in most cases. Anything more than that and we might aswell turn our cards face up. (Although there are exceptions to this rule)
It's frustrating, but I too have called with any 2 if I have narrowed the oppo down to a pocket pair. He is never going to get that lucky all the time, but when he or I do, the return is going to be massive. especially if it comes down all low cards on the flop.
well made semi for m/e at first attemt yet again, let`s hope at 21st attempt i make m/e, although the trip has just hit so really need to concerntrate ( for once). gl also torryboy in semi who helped on final table with getting rid off player to qualify

Still a fish though. On a serious point Trevor weren't you advocating not too long ago that pre flop raises need to be bigger than 2 or 3X in the early stages so that we don't get too many callers? Do things change that quickly in the poker world or is bet sizing totally hand dependant? Sorry for all the questions but things like this cropping up can only help to improve a players game.

After doing more community service today ( 6 hours cutting back hedges and getting attacked by brambles- no photo shoot for me for the next 3 months while the cuts heal.....makes me seriously think i should never have killed all those fish on the river,lol) i am now very tired so if i fall asleep on any of your tables please don't steal my blinds and just let me win,lol.
