Doubt if anyone agree's but I think the DTD is getting to big for Deepstacks. Last night seemed like a grind, staying tight and sensible doesnt seem to work in that size of fields as the blinds were sizable with the players still being at the 100 mark.

Its not the big fields thats bothering me as I agree they have done a great job to build it up. I just think a huge field and a deepstack = a very very late night and I have work in the morning. Tactically its getting very difficult to stay tight knowing from a 100 players onwards its a bit of a shove an hope if you want to get near a low score.

yes the field last night was Maaaaahooooooosive But I still enjoyed it
It's very very tough to do well in all 3 tournies against that size of field, but I gotta say.........TPT were all over it last night and we still had quite a few players in right down to the last few tables - Even managed a cash myself wiiiiiiiiiii.
At the end of the day, i'm happy to have the fun and banter at the expense of the buy-in and it also gives me a massive poker incentive injection every week

I totally see what your saying Torryboy. With 2 DTD games going on till just after 1 am it is difficult for people who have work in the morning. Unfortunately that is one of the byproducts of a successfully run event. Have to correct you on one point torry staying tight and sensible DID seem to work last night for me and for others. And if they ever change the DTD format from deepstack to a Turbo you won't see me for dust. Personally I think theres far too many turbos and BHs and not enough "regular " MTTs.

Quite interesting Dagg, where were you chip wise when the blinds were 400 / 800?
Not been about since Fri night and even then shouldn't really have been on, came on due to the DTD freebie and thought i'd play a few then about 10:30 things went a bit pear-shaped and had no concentration after that.
On fri morning at 9am took my 12 yr old step son to the doc's 10 mins later at hospital childrens ward with suspected appendicitis, Got hold of mum (she works at the hosp), then rang his dad. Within half hour was told by surgeons that he would have keyhole surgery to have a look & if it was his appendix they would remove it, this would happen within 3-4 hours.....
7 hours later, he suddenly cried in pain, was given morph-ine and surgeons said he'd be next in..
5 hours after that I was home with my 3 yr old got a phone call saying my partner was on the way home for some food as the stepson had just gone into surgery 9pm at night....
She ate her tea, packed some clothes for both of them and returned, at 10:30 she called me to say his appendix had burst and caused a bad mess and that they'd had to cut him open..
So I have been staying at the hospital over night with him for last 3 nights (partner is tonight) am exhausted.
Very annoyed as if they'd have took him in when they said they would it wouldn't have burst and he'd be home by now. they reckon another week in hospital as of this morning.. always thought private healthcare was a waste of money, this experience has changed my mind totally.....

Out of 1 and 3 by that time (about 10-15pm) DTD 2 very up and down at 400/800 was down to 4 BB but was able to steadily rebuild for a cash. Thats the beauty of a deepstack you can still afford to be patient to an extent. Finally finished 17th. Overall it was my best result for a while considering the size of the fields.

The last few weeks I seem to get to the 400/800 mark with about 4 to 5k with some big stacks around me an no matter how patient I am just doesnt work.
Perhaps a change of tactics next week lol.
But to be honest staying up till the small hours doesnt appeal to me either. Dont want to change the format just wish the starting times were a bit earlier but thats only my wish list lol
