The universe really hates me today. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Everything that couldn't go wrong somehow altered the laws of physics so that it could go wrong.
Take this forum post. This is the third time I'm writing it because twice (once when I was just about to hit the "Add Post" button) it just self-destructed on me.
If the poker was the only thing that didn't go well then I wouldn't be complaining today but it wasn't. So, as I don't really have a suitable outlet for venting about the other stuff (I did let out a few screams of frustration earlier that were cathartic) I'll vent about the poker here.
Here is the cruelest/funniest/daftest/most annoying hand of poker fom today:

That alone was bizarre. The chat after that took it to another level entirely:

TcTd is a 70 percent favourite over Ad5s, so you've got to love his chat bravado in that situation, don't you? He pulled me in!
Of course, as is the way so often, I got my chips in good again not long after that and suffered another bad beat (AQ<KJ, but against another player, thankfully) to send me to the rail.
Oh, and just to prove that the universe really hates me, our villain was chip leader about half an hour after I crashed out. He went on to make the final table and finish fourth, so he had a nice cash while I wondered just why I had bothered to get out of bed that morning...

If I had been paying more attention then I would have played in last night's TPT game but it's just as well that I didn't - I won't go into details but why but trust me when I say so. I'll try to make the next team game so I can at least meet a few more of you across the tables. When is it? I'll try to circle it in my calendar.
My games recently have been a disappointment. I'm marginally down from my peak (£5 or so) but I feel that I have played much better than most of my results suggest. The STTs have been good, the MTTs have been bad (despite some decent play), and the few cash games have been ugly. I have a fistful of dollars but what I wouldn't do for a few dollars more!
(If you thought that those puns were awful then be glad I wasn't playing in the TPT game! I'm a talker on the tables, most of the time.)
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the great ego-stroking I got earlier today. On the final table of a low stakes bounty hunter I was sat chatting with four really nice guys including Slykllist. Great play, great cards, great banter all round. I think this was the first time that I've sat across a table from Slykllist and I was very flattered when he offered me a spot on the HitSquad team after seeing such a small sample of my play. I thanked him for his offer and declined because I'm already a part of a nice, friendly team but it was really nice to be asked like that!
It didn't stop me from bubbling out in fourth, though - and on my exit hand he did the damage by flopping a full house. Why didn't anybody warn me that that's what happens to people who say "no" to the HitSquad!?
