sad to hear the news that spornbol is leaving us although i have only met him a few times and chatted during tounaments, sad to see any member leave.
i have managed to get my self in the main and mini tonight, i thought that i would mention it as it is my first main event, i was always scared to enter such comps but in the last few weeks i have played against most of the top players and held my own, and also been smashing the cash so thought i would give it ago.
wish me luck, any tips on bounty hunter? i tend to play tight but the field leaves me behind but i seem to catch up later on is this the correct tactics.
other get it all in pre flop with a10,jk,jq,q10,a9,a8,a7,88,77,55 which is out of my range am i missing a trick

Tournements are always about situations haylez.. say u have an aggro guy who is playing alot of pots bluffing alot then the some of the time it will be profitable to call down with weaker holdings ! if u think some1 is at it never call try 3 betting and putting him to the test, i try to be the guy in the hand asking the questions ! (although this gets me in a lot of trouble at times) there is no set way to play tournes i would never say b4 a tourne starts get it in with this hand or that hand because it is all about situations and what u perceive other players to hold in a certain situations !! if u have nothing an u think the villan in the hand has nothin try asking him a few question with small 3 bets ! if u have a fish who cant lay down a pair never bluff !!! what i will say is ur stratigy is right ! most of the time im an absolute rock at the begining of a tourne because most players are playing a higher starting range of hands so its harder to connect with your bigger hands and also they r alot less likely to fold middle pairs ect ! Anyways i hope u have a good result glglglgl
I have some tips for bounty hunters Haylez. If you have a cat make sure it's out of range of your foot. Make sure your lappy / monitor is insured. And finally don't enter a bounty hunter in the first place!

SOLID ADVICE !!!!!!! fish everywere as iv just found out for the 30th times today !!! running so fookin bad atm
Hi Haylez In a Bounty Hunter "Main Event" such as this, I would just play your normal game and don't put too much emphasis on winning the bounties.
Be aware of what players are doing around you on your table........sometimes what you would perceive as a weak play in other tournaments can be the exact opposite in Bounty Hunters.
Also, some players can be very loose in BH's and are likely to call you off with a very wide range just to try and win your bounty, so if you are going to get it all-in, make sure you have got the goods......don't get drawn into a race for all your stack with marginal hands.
thanks for all the great advice i will try my best and try to do the right things at the right time and shut my eyes and hope for the best. hahaha, should be fun and good best of luck to all as always Posted by haylez83

many thanks, i had a chance to go all in with aj earlier but with two all ins before decided against it and the poker experts said i should of gone for it, longterm its the right play but i am still learning and for my first ever main event on skypoker thought didnt do too bad, although my ak vs 45 lost in the end i was gutted last night but today it isnt that bad.
could of won it but 8th place is awesome for me, many thanks as always to all that railed me via the chat and twitter.
