Well I am still getting horrible beats live and online, but getting it in good so fingers crossed the luck will change soon. A prime example... £100 buy in game at Broadway casino on wednesday. pocket 7's in mid position, I limp call, as do 4 others. flop AKK. everyone checks. Turn: 7 happy days. sb leads out for 2k (blinds are 400/800) bb folds, utg calls with... I shove my stack of 21k everyone folds apart from utg who calls my all in with AJ. river K
i've had a brutal day today, probably the worst for many months.
shifted a chunk of voulume to turbos recently and ran pretty well doing so, but REALLY missed hypers. they can be a cruel mistress, but they are the nuts to play. so decided to return to hypers and push a chunk of volume in today. things did NOT go well, lol.
the mental game of hypers is definately the hardest part of the format.
short stack play boils down to avoiding coolers and running, not necessarily well in all-in spots, but merely winning your 'fair share'. unfortunately those things are in the lap of the poker gods and sometimes it's the footballing equivilent of playing against a side with schmeicheal in goal and baresi and maldini as the centre-backs [and bobby moore sweeper]. if you cant win when your oppo is all in, then it's a real grind.
i guess all hyper-heads will know the feeling of seeing yet another card from **** hit on the turn or river.
today has been one of those days for me.
the saving grace is it gives fish a lot of validation when their 63o call for 12bb hits

i've tried 2 tabling recently. been sucessful 2 tabling short sessions on another site . today was my fisrt extended session 2 tabling. it's really hard to know how it went as apart from a few early misclicks and misreading my stack size i was comfortable 2 tabling, but i've run disgustingly bad in all in situations today. so, meh.

set up a roll on a US facing site, lower rake on hypers and a decent rake-back deal mean i'll prolly shift a bunch of volume there. the standard of play is a LOT tougher than on here, but i've managed to run up a healthy profit there so far. i'm currently grinding to release a deposit bonus. the software is the nuts too. so may not be around as much next month in the evenings.
