What a strange day I had yesterday!! As previously posted I'd managed to qualify 3 times for the roller at the time of my last post. I then managed to get 2nd in the frenzy for the roller for £99 and qualified once more via a direct satellite. That I think makes it my best ever day on sats - 1 entry, plus 3 x £110 plus £99. Not sure if these count towards our MTT totals?
I went out quickly from the UKPC final game - never really got going.
Many thanks for the fab rail in the roller - unfortunately even with the amazing support I couldn't manage to TID - but I did manage a respectable 8th place finish for £520.60. Couldn't have done it without you all - many many thanks!!
Hope all TPTers run golden tonight - I'm hoping to play the 3 DTD games if hubby allows me back on computer after breaking my curfew last night lol.

BIG Welcome back to those who have been away, and a very warm welcome to the newbies.... Some great cashes Guys 'n' GAL !!!!
Sorry I haven't been able to contribute anything coz Ive been on a torrid run. Thought it had turned around tonight when I finally won an All-in sat. into UKPC semi (coz I was going to give Poker a rest for a while) I was doing well in semi (mainly in top3, with 4 to qualify and £176 for 5th) all the way through and made the final table....but as 1 of the shorties...... .....should I have played my exit hand or waited for a possible better opportunity against 1 of the other short stacks or hope someone else gets knocked out before me ?? ....Coz I always play it and do seem to keep bubbling....PLEASE HELP

Can anyone recommend some good POKER books to read or Vids to watch to help me get better PLEASE
As you know i'm only 18 but i sort of knew the rules since i was 10 and i played it with family/friends etc. It was only about a year ago i started looking at it more seriously. I waited till i was 18 to sign up because i am a good boy, but the way i actually learnt was from watching sky poker tv for about 6 months, then my first 4 months were awful, but you learn from the mistakes you made. I got better from when i got involved in the community - sending hands to be analysed on the TV show, joining TPT and making good new friends to discuss the game with.
I didn't bother with any videos or books or anything, just stuck to 861 and people, that stuff is free
Now i'm in contact on a daily basis with some of the best that play on this site, and just reading their hand discussions is valuable stuff etc.
The 10 10 hand was played perfectly looking at the stack sizes in that hand, you just got outdrawn and it was unlucky.

Congrats on getting to the bubble again - not easy to do in the first place. Being on the bubble ICM becomes important, and shoving ranges into a raised pot become much tighter. If it was a normal mtt it would still be an easy shove, especially as the bigger stacks will be bullying as was indeed the case here. But in a sat, especially one where the payback is significant to one's bankroll, the only criteria is survival. you want to be shoving into unraised pots, but with early action there is a good argument to fold even a hand as strong as TT. Indeed even folding AA preflop is doable on the bubble of a sat if there is already action.
It also looks like this is the first hand of the FT - so you haven't had a chance to see how the others are playing - this would also be useful info. Nothing nicer to see than an active short stack (until he doubles up!)
Rough default position would be: Raised pot - FOLD unraised into active big stacks - FOLD unraised into passive bigstacks and short stacks - SHOVE again it all depends on the exact situation, but if you bear this concept in mind it gives you a different way to think about it.
additionally - should you have even been playing the semi? I hope you entered the allin because there was overlay - I saw you were in the one I entered which did. but I needed an early night so pre-regged the semi, and took the allin win as cash, and then de-regged the semi. likewise even if you are wanting and able to play - are there not other mtts that would be more appropriate to spend your allin winnings instead of playing the semi, which is always going to be a tough game. maybe the mega stack - sounds like the field there is really soft. (just winding you up matt - vwp m8 2/3 ain't bad as they say, although somewhat before your time methinks)
Thats FANTASTIC advice for me GELDY and very much appreciated, thank you very much. It was the 1st hand of the FT and I just felt the hand was one I could increase my chipstack with to ensure qualification, obviously afterwards I was regretting not waiting longer but it is a great learning experience for me. I do know quite a few of the players as they are regulars. I know I possibly shouldnt be playing UKPC semi's but it is good to play against better players and learn from them too and it was via the All-in route again. there always is overlay in these though the nearer it gets to final in Notts there does seem to be a few more entering them. I'd love to make it to Notts. just to meet everyone and for the experience too........ ....Meanwhile here's another in a line of hands i've suffered recently, this time as Chip Leader, has anyone got a spare CAT to KICK....I've run out !!!!!!!
