Is Sky's swear filter OTT?

It so is!

I'm eloquent enough that not swearing bothers me not a jot by jove.

But sometimes there's words that wouldn't offend my favourite nun and I struggle  to find an alternative? Time to update?

    i just played another site that wouldn't let me use Calculator or Confusing.   Now that's OTT

    You have to be over 18 to play on the site anyway, I don't see why there is any filter in place at all...

    Because the forum has to follow the same rules as any of the other BSkyB forums which it owns. One set of rules governs all from upon high, etc.

    Yes, it doesn't make sense on some levels, but we have to respect their rules on this one.

    If any of you find words which are filtered when you think they're *clearly* fine, drop me a PM and I will look in to it.
