Hi, I was watching channel 865 on Sky, and Ed gave some facts on a player called Irishrover who had won 26 consecutive DyM's. Can you please tell me how to work out the odds on winning 1, 2, 3, 4 consecutive DyMs etc?

In Irishrover's case about 2/1 to win 26 on the trot - he's a huge fish you know?

    ;o)

I'm not sure you can work out the odds, but some clever so and so will be along shortly to prove me wrong.

To calculate the odds of winning consecutive DYM's multiply "1" by "2" for each DYM, then "-1"

    3 dym's

    (1 x 2 x 2 x 2) -1 = 7/1

    8 dym's = 255/1

    26 dym's = 67,108,863/1

    50 dym's = 1,125,899,890,065,407/1 - Over one-thousand billion to one.

This isn't an event you can work out odds for.

I would be to scared to offer odds on IRISHROVER , the same as i would be scared to offer odds of ELSADOG winning another 3/4 or 5 mtt main events over the next couple of weeks xxx

Yes, I should have said this in my previous post. Player ability will vary the odds either making it more or less likely to happen.

One way you could calculate it is take the player's ITM% (in the money) for DYM's, take "100" divided by the number and multiply it together so many times to figure out that particular player's odds of cashing in consecutive dym's.

    Example, if a player cashes in 65% of DYM's, 100/65 = 1.5385.

To cash in 8 dym's in a row for this players would be - 30.4/1

If a player only cashed in 12% of dym's, the odds of this player cashing in 8 dym's would be 23,256,059/1.

I did a lot of soft table searching up to  game 19 ,
from game 19 on searching got quiet intense ,
     i recall some nights scanning £2.20 , £3.30 & £5.50  tables for close to a hour sometimes  ,
before playing just one  plo omaha dym game .

In truth i recall  getting  lucky twice ,
1st time : my kings suited v aces suited all in ,
    i hit my flush.
2nd time : i had 2 big blinds left on the bubble  and a guy with 12 bigs push all in against the chip leader and lost  lol .

Every game from my previous best of  20 was a cup final match / game .

    Denis .
