I agree that PLO/PLO8 are much more fun than NLH, unfortunately not enough action around here. I don't like draw games, especially Badugi is just plain crazy. I would still like some mixed games, the mixed freerolls on FT were good for playing a few hands of stud or razz every now and then. I didn't know what I was doing, but it sure was fun. Variety is always good.

SKYPOKER NEEDS TO LOSE THE UNMANNED £11 PLO MTTs REPLACE THEM WITH £2 PLO REBUYS - MUCH BETTER AND IF MAKE THE TOURNIES SHORTSTACK WITH A £50+ GUARANTEE SURE MOST PEEPS WILL SPEND >£6 PER MTT THIS FORMAT - ONE LOVE, keenberg ( beware ;)

I occasionally play the low stakes Omaha DYMs for a change and always enjoy them but iv had to learn it myself by playing on here so may have missed a few fundamentals, i think there is a general devide on this site of people like me who play it as a change to hold'em and people who actaully know how to play the game properly and are alot more skillful at it. Haven't seen many average players at it if that makes sense? Altough i do only play micro/low stakes so that may be why.

Welcome to Sky poker Keenberg hop eyou continue to enjoy it here :)

Also i think a low stakes MTT Omaha is a great idea! i would probably give it a couple of trys and see how i did

Nice to see some Omaha discussion going. The freerolls regularly get 300-400 runners, so there is some level of interest. When Hartigan had his Omaha league in July there were decent numbers for the MTT and on the cash tables. I think the issue is the lack of cheap guaranteed MTTs and the lack of promotion. We need something like the Monday DTD or the Premiership for Omaha.

PlO is a great game no doubt. But you can not truely say that any poker variant is better than another because they are different in both play and skillset required. The biggest losers on the PLO tables are people who have recently crossed over from NLHE and are still stuck in the same mindset.

But if i were pushed for an answer as to the best poker variant then it would have to be a mixed game, where all the skills are tested. So i would have to go for HORSE.

But i still maintain that no direct comparisons can be made between the games. It is like comparing test cricket to 20/20 or rugby league to rugby union. Fundamentally the same but different enough to be set in there own right.
