Sunday's live show with James, Carlo & Jamie Burland (***OFFICIAL THREAD***)

Not long to go now until your Sunday-night fix of live poker on channel 865, the primary focus being the £8k Sunday Roller.

Carlo will be doing his thing, assisted by our special guest star...

Jamie Burland

Jamie - as seen on TV in Sky Poker's UK Cash Game and the UKIPT's Champion of Champions event - describes poker as a "hard way to make an easy living." If you want any advice on grinding or binking, Jamie's your man, so e-mail your questions to skyopen@bskyb.com or post them in this forum thread.

This evening's hop topic is three-betting light (i.e. re-raising without much of a hand). Carlo and Jamie will be sharing their thoughts and offering some strategic pearls of wisdom. If you come across a hand highlighting this particular play, please send us the ID number, so we can broadcast it on the telly and talk about it!

We'll also be crossing live to Luton for updates from the GUKPT - where the final table is in full swing. And, with a Bank Holiday weekend just around the corner, it's a great opportunity for me to ask this question again:

What's the best summer day out in the UK?

Your suggestions, please. We might also run a competition on the show. So, make sure you're watching from 9pm ;-)

A day out at the races (A smaller venue like Southwell is best) with a mate or two! Is my idea of a good summers day out even better if I break even or make a profit!

Q for Jamie  - For an average player whats the easiest way to make money for low stakes  if you had to pick one discipline to practise  and focus on - cash, DYM,s , STT,s  or satelites to bigger tournies?

Skeggy! I love it! Loads for everyone, there's such energy there. I love the arcades, watching the people & then eating fish & chips out the paper!! Not too expensive & the smell of the sea is great, really English feel to the day.

Hi guys, on the subject of 3-betting light do you think there is any value in doing it at microstakes cash?

My general strategy is to play tight/position and usually only reraise for value as people will still call. Bear in mind I do not have any software giving me stats on opponents.

Re days out, I can recommend Warwick Castle. A bit pricey to get in but a good family day out.

    Hi Chaps

We had a great week in Somerset and thoroughly recommend Cheddar Gorge, took the dog in the caves, did Jacobs ladder and plenty of nice real ale pubs and cream tea cafes. Also spent a fortune in the cheese shop!!

Also loved Watchet with it's steam train rides to Minehead, quaint fishing village, some great pubs!

2 live games this weekend and 2 cashes so warming up nicely for SPT DTD, watch out Jamie and Carlo!!

Have a good show guys, I enjoyed Jamies analysis last time he was on.

You can't beat a trip to the seaside for the best summer day out for me.

It always brings back childhood memories of sand sandwiches, digging a massive hole on the beach and burying my dad (only upto his neck before you ring the police) and changing into my swimming shorts with a towel wrapped round me.

Now I prefer to do a spot of surfing near to Scarborough.

The only trouble with surfing in this country is it tends to be better in the winter time and the water is cold enough in the middle of summer, so you can only guess what it's like in the winter.

As for 3-betting light, it's only something I tend to do later in a tournament when I feel other players are opening lighter.

    3 betting light - Hand ID - 0405236298

Only did as I thought his bet on the turn was weak and thought he might be trying to pinch it.  If he flatted I still had some options with 2 overs.

    Hi James, Carlo and Jamie

3 betting light, takes some guts to do, but I feel it also depends on your table immage,  if you have reads on the table and how good the players on the table are, if they are poor players whi aint gonna fold, then its a waste of time.

Best summer day out part 2: Haigh Hall, Wigan. Tikay would love the minature railway (there's two of them) probably more than my daughter age 5.

Any comments on this hand number 405261124. I'm never quite sure how to play it and he had been pushing me about all night so I did it back. It did kind of play better post flop. lol.
