Abuse standard at NL4?

Got comped free money on sky so played a little at NL4 today.

I dont play online much at all these days.  But I love the community, theres alot of great people on here.  I love the notion of SKypoker in combination with Skypoker channel.  And I love that your playing as part of a community, that were not playing/talking to people all spread around the world.  Its great to see people you see grinding constantly do well and be happy for them.  The reason I dont play is my feelings towards online poker in general and a bad ROI :p.  But I do think SKY is very well put together.

But I played NL4 and I came upon some really unpleasant characters.  Berating other players even when they were winning pots, being the definition of "bad winners".  Every win at showdown accompanied by an insult to the unlucky player.  Then others seemed happy enough to jump on the bandwagon and it just became constant abuse.

I know most people are not like this.  I have complained to the appropriate service.  Is this normal at NL4?  or did I just hit the moron jackpot on my three tables?

from the sounds off it you was unlucky, but depending who you reported and clad you did, there seems to be a lot of new players to site ( not saying all newbies ) seems to think they can say what they want and it`s down to us older players to site to let these abusive players know it is not tolerated,

Well said Sporny,  +1 and well done Amybr for reporting it.

There is absolutely no need for abuse at the table under any circumstances

The higher the levels you go up the less chat you see, mainly because they're all grinding loads of tables so they have less time to chat.

Unfortunately you do get the odd table with the odd plonker on it lower down.

Really annoys me tbh, its pure cowardice.  People may needle live, they may whine, they may act slightly left or right of middle.  But very very rarely do you see someone directly insult another player in a purely demeaning way.  But from what I saw it was done in such an offhand way that it appeared that (for these players) its the norm.

Try it live is all I say :)  Enjoy the penalies at best, enjoy loosing a few teeth at worse.

Easy to abuse deride and insult through a computor screen, pure childish cowardice.

That's why they do it, because they're on a pc and not face to face with the person they're abusing.

You see it all of the time with online gaming.

I play quite a lot at 4NL and I don't see much of it. Recently I've been playing quite a few tables so I'm on miniview and wouldn't see it but I haven't seen too much of it before, certainly not anything too offensive. Fingers crossed you just have a bit of bad luck on your table, don't let it scare you away :)
