Sky Poker Tour

I'm fairly new to Sky in terms of actually being involved in the community and watching channel 865. I enjoy playing live so much more than online (though I do still love playing online) and I'd love to get myself down to some of the SPT legs. Sadly I can't make it to Nottingham (even if I could qualify) because of other commitments that weekend.

This might be a bit premature but I'm just trying to find out, when will the SPT legs start again in 2012 if it is 2012 when they start up again? Do they change the cities they take place in each year? If so I'm from Liverpool so I guess Blackpool and Leeds are the ones that would be a reasonable distance.

How much are the satellites usually for SPT legs? And when do they usually start running? How long before the SPT leg goes do you get to qualify? a month or two?

    Hi Lambert......

Wow, LOTS of questions there......but I'll try & answer what I can.

The Sky Poker Tour for 2011/12 has not been confirmed or announced yet......but if you

watch the Show on Channel 865 Thursday of NEXT week, you may hear some news about it.

Note I left a big gap betwen the lines so you can better read between them..... ;)

The cities/venues vary from year to year. Yes, Blackpool - hypothetically of course - would be the nearest to Liverpool.

Satellite costs vary from Event to Event, but will be, largely, similar to this year, though, again hypothetically, some might be more expensive, & some cheaper.....

Satellites for each Leg usually start as soon as the previous Leg has taken place, & usually sell out within 2 to 3 weeks.

Thank you very much Tikay, very informative... or at least as informative as I can hope for.

Well seen as the venues change each year, I'll have my fingers crossed for one being in Liverpool or Manchester...

And looks like I'll have to be on the ball when it comes to qualifying. I'm sure I'll manage fine though, should have a pretty nice BR from my cash grinding by the time it gets round to playing the satellites. Who knows, maybe I could get the 10,000 points to be in the priority club and buy-in direct by that point :)

Hypothetically people from all parts will be happy with the new schedule. All points North, South, East and West covered. Except Cornwall.

Not at the monent because only one more is cheduled, the Grand Final of the current season in Nottinham on 26-27 Oct

Nearest likely venue to Cornwall for next year would be Bristol, Coventry, Birmingham, Nottingham though the venues have not been arranged yet

I hope there is one in Bristol next year, I'd love to be able to get to one, even if only to meet people. The nearest this year, Birmingham, was nearly 250 miles away so a little impractical (but not impossble I guess)

250 miles is not a lot compared to the distances a lot of people travel to be at the majority of events

We will try to diversify geograhpically, as always
