I don't think theres a poker conversion to horses/footie betting etc. You could just follow the usual BR rules andnot risk more than 2-5% on any one bet, with the amount you are risking being smaller the longer the odds of the bet.
I don't have seperate bankrolls for poker and sports bets, just one. If I make a sports bet, how much should I want to win in terms of big blinds? Posted by Wilhelm
Not sure m8 but imo you should bet big. Unlike poker there is no rake in betting so definitely more profitable in the long run. ( LOOOOOOOL Genius post ! You just made my day.)

This advice is so wrong lol. There may be no ''rake'' in sports betting but the odds are stacked way more towards the bookmaker, an over round (the profit margin that bookies like) is often 118% +, in poker its 10%. Good bankroll management is always the key when gambling, but the bookie will always win in the long run!

I had no idea that the bookies were quite so cynical. The guy on the Bet Fred advert seemed like a really nice bloke and made the idea of sports betting appear a bit of a laugh or some harmless fun at the very least. I know different now. 118% +. That is really taking the biscuit. Thank you so much for opening my eyes and sparing me inevitable losses and the misery that would accompany them. I owe you big time man and i'll be sure to pass this wisdom on to my family and friends !
