When he min-re-raises me on the flop I figure he could have trips or another Ace, but I feel I have to call.

When the J comes on the turn I figure he must have the Ace, so check to avoid building a huge pot as I expect it to be split and the bigger the pot, the more I lose to rake.

I presume I now have to call his all-in? Should I have played this differently?

you could be a hero and put him on AA/ Jx and fold but I think its resonable to believe you are splitting/possibly ahead here.

You can't call turn then fold river.

getting over 4/1 on the call, snap it off

When you decide to call flop raise, what is your plan?

I was always going to call any raise on the end as I was figured I'd be very unlucky to be behind. I didn't raise it up myself after the turn as I put him on Ax, which meant we were splitting.

I was just wondering if people approved of the way I played the hand. The title of the thread is somewhat misleading as I pretty much knew I had to call on the end, but could I have got off this hand? (Yes, he had the J.)
