MTT, FT, AQ 3-bet! What now?

Final table of a deepstack, around 90 or so runners, first orbit, not bumped in to villain prior to this so readless. I have been very active but unless villain has been watching the other table he wouldnt know that. I have had a bigger stack (50k) but have gone card dead and chip leader had position on me on the previous table and i couldnt steal anything, he just 3-bet me and my stack has diminished to this just by blinds coming through me. Not a good time to go card dead! (On a side note, what do i do in that situation?)

Eventually i get A,Q. I have a really awkward stack size. Not an MTT player really so whats the correct play?

Even though he has put such a high % of his stack in? Doesnt look like he will fold and i should only be getting called by better hands shouldnt i? Or racing at best?

Like i say, not really a MTT player.

so you want to fold because his betsizing is bad?

lol, idk, AQ 20BB deep looks plenty good enough to me, but I have no idea what his 3x 3bet means this shallow

It's a scientific fact that AQ never wins a race. Did you play with or observe him before final table to pick up on his betting patterns?

I have made similar mistakes on final table in MTTs; your mistake, IMO, was not knowing what you'd do if you were re-raised or set all in before you raised. Didn't you listen to Barry's top tip? :D

The result of this is indecision and not knowing your next move - this leads to mistakes. I was browsing through my hand history earlier and this is a leak of mine at times when I'm either comfortable with chips and trying to "safely" steal chips with a decent hand, or I think a raise that isn't all in is better for either pragmatic reasons or it could be interpreted as a sign of strength/weakness, depending on table history, opponent and desired effect.

Exhibit A: At least when I steal with bad cards, I know what I will do if reraised: (This was final 3 of 250gtd)

I don't know why hand history isn't going up properly, anyway, know what you're going to do before you put chips in and you won't have this horrible situation with AQ.

I'm shoving and hoping he doesn't turn over AK.  We're flipping a lot here, crushed a bit and crushing AX sometimes.  He's not folding.

Thanks. I'm going to join a support group, IE users anonymous... the shame. Even if things don't look too well with Ax you could always super bink the river and get a double KO after getting your money in with the worst of it:

Hi ronnie, i get what you say mate. I already thought pre that i am raising and calling off a shove, but it threw me when he 3-bet to this size. Surely it is a sign of immense strength? He is basically inducing the shove from me, he wants me to shove! Thats what his bet size said to me, i knew i had no problem getting it in but after seeing this raise can i get off it, he obviously has a monster. Its a good idea having a plan pre flop and knowing where you are going with the hand in certain situations but we can still remain flexible can we not?

    FWIW he had KK! :-(

Probably just a bit of a cooler, but it was one of those hands what i keep going back to as i feel he has given me the info to maybe get away from this. Dunno though, its a bit nitty folding A,Q so short.
