Sky Poker @ GUKPT Coventry Main Event

So the GUKPT is well underway in Coventry, at the fantastic venue of the Ricoh Arena.

Tomorrow is the 1070£ Main Event and I shall be there representing Team Sky Poker.

Julian Thew will also be playing, as will the great man himself Tony Kendall.  SPT champion James Williams should also be there.

I will be updating my progress on twitter http://twitter.com/#!/scotty_77 for those who don't already have it.  I will be playing the 6pm flight.

I believe that Tikay will be in the noon flight, and unsure about Thewy.

As far as I know, this isn't an official TSP event, and there won't be updates from Sky within the venue however I am sure that all of our twitters will carry updates.  Also there is usually a live stream at GUKPTs, so google is your friend....and the GUKPT site usually carries an official blog, updated by recent 865 show guest Jen Mason.

Anyone else here playing?  Or tempted to try a last minute sat?  The Ricoh is a great venue and they should havs sats running for this today so if your local and wanna take a shot then good luck :o)

Yes, unless work intervenes - & it might, it's an incredibly hectic week - I'll be there, playing the Noon Flight.

Thewy is playing the Noon flight, too, & Ryan is playing the 6pm Flight.

Not sure what Flight James is playing, but by an odd coincidence, I shared a Table with him at Coventry the day before yesterday - the day James exit from TSP was announced! - in a GUKPT Sidey. Fun table it was, too, incredibly so, & if time permitted, I'd do a Blog, there were some right characters @ the Table, including a rich old lady, (donated her entire stack to James & I in Level 1!*) & a drug dealer. Fun stuff.

Updates? Someone else may need to spell this out, as I have to be careful with mentioning "next door", as was evident in a mean jibe made a few weeks ago on here. But there will be a Live Update by a well-known Poker Forum, & you may rest 100% assured that it will give prominence to any & all Sky Poker players.......

    * The Rich elderly lady paid me off with 1 pair v my House, & paid James off on an A high Board with one pair v James SET of Aces...... The drug dealer? Well that's another story, but it nearly kicked off big time.....

My Twitter handle is "twitter@Tony_Kendall", & I'll try & tweet some titbits, but I must say, when I was there on Tuesday, & the internet connection was awful, & I was barely able to get a Tweet to "go".

As some of you may know, the Casino @ Coventry is wholly underground, in fact, it is TWO floors underground. Even more bizarre, it is two floors beneath a Championship football pitch.

You can't make this stuff up, eh?

Ah yeah I forgot about the internet issues.  Will try and update the best I can then.

But yeah there are both official and unofficial live updates for this GUKPT, all of which can be found by a fairly simple search request.

Make sure you make it Tikay!  No excuses.

Thanks Renty, & yes, I have a pretty toasty life. I have always used a basic rule in life - work hard, & play hard!

I've also had an amazing year in poker via staking other players, (I have "interests" in 3 or 4 players in the Cov GUKPT), & so I thought I'd treat myself.

Groan, several adverse comments noted on a social-media site already.....

For the record, I am NOT playing as a TSP Member, or Sky Poker player, I'm playing on my own money.

Travelling? You only live 20 miles away! That's not travelling, that's a brisk walk.....

Be there, then you can bust me yourself......

For those who do not know, the poker forum this refers to is the Blonde one.

I take it the second part is a 'cheap' jibe towards me? If so, fair play, but I did remove the post and apologise by text to you.

''Groan, several adverse comments noted on a social-media site already.....

For the record, the above has nothing to do with me before I get the normal crew on here!

Anyway, I would just like to wish ALL the Sky Poker 'players' (including Tikay! and anyone else playing who have not been mentioned) the best of luck at Coventry!!

I'm not going to get into an argument with you Alan, or derail the thread.

The fact is, you made the smear against my integrity & even-handedness in PUBLIC, (via a Forum Post) & apologised in PRIVATE, (via Text). If you don't see the injustice & irony in that, you are not trying very hard.

You did remove the Post, but not before others quoted it, & as far as I know, the quote of your Post is still there.

I am happy to clarify that the comments this morning on the Social-Media site were NOT by you.

Throwing out these innuendos (often under cover of "smileys") & then withdrawing them does not help much - once they are Posted, removal does not make them disappear, the damage is done. It would be better if you refrained from such stuff, please.

If you mean me, Mr LT, doubtful, to be honest. Tempted, but doubtful......

If you do play it, good luck, win the lot.

Best of luck to all of the Sky Poker folks.

I also hope Tikay runs good and gets A-A a little more often than the usual 227-1. Playing hands in these tournaments is always the most fun part, you see.

In the £300 sidey, James Williams (on my Table) said "tikay is in more pots than a queen bee, his image as a nit is shattered".

    We began with 10k, & I had....

    End of Lev 1, 20k

    End of Lev 2 30k

    End of Lev 3, 35k

    End of Lev 4, 5k

End of Level 5 - stats still awaited.....

I'm reverting to being Lord Nit in future.
