I feel as though I done the right thing and was just called by a weaker hand/player, but its been bugging me that maybe I could of just 3 raised BB and then had the opportunity to fold after the flop? At this stage I was 2nd in the Deepstack the guy who called was chip leader....

Difficult one.  Firstly not a fan of pushing all in when 1st to act with AA mainly for the fact that you are limiting your chances of getting paid and in most cases won't get a caller as it screams out "big hand".   That said I don't beleive a 3 bet would of got hm off the hand and post flop having hit his Q he probably would of carried on with the play anyway regardless of your next bet.

The best play in my opionion was 3 bet pre-flop then push post flop as you then represent the flush draw which at that point s beating him and could also show trip 8's, kings or aces all things that may deter him from playing his pair of queens.

ultimatley unlucky ...but that's Poker :)

Woops just had another look at this and realised I was actually raised and on the Big Blind so a shove here shows Im strong surely?

plenty of room for a 3bet pre with both ur stack sizes, maximises the number of hands he calls with.

Don't like shove, just reraise it to like 3500 and get it in on all flops.

However if you know he calls this light just shove lol.

^^ you could of but i have a feeeling you probably still wouldn't of folded

    re raise to 3500-4000

then it ends up the same anyways as i don't see you folding

Also you shouldn't be LOOKING for ways to fold AA on flop just 50bb deep, you should be looking to make other guy go all in.

Ok thanks everyone that replied, I think I should of maybe reraised him and not shoved, but I also agree that the outcome would probably gone the same way, because he hit on the flop then I think he would of called my ALL IN anyway..

Frustrating but thats poker.... Gotta suck it up and go again.

    Thanks for the advice

Never say 'oh the outcome would have been the same' I hate this way of thinking as it's totally results orientated, you have to play the hand as good as you possibly can and then whatever the result is it doesn't have any significance as you can not influence how the cards are dealt.

You got your money in as an 80% favourite, and judging by his pre flop all in calling range, especially given stacks, he would have shoved or 3-bet you with the pair of Q on the flop when you would still have been a massive favourite. You just got sucked out on.

I also have to say, for the sake of the English language, it's "should I have gone all in pre flop"...
