I used to watch the evening open(I think it was called that) And they always seemed to be on the tv,Do sky do any more tv for tournaments about £5-£10? as i cant afford the bigger buy ins but would love one of my hands to be shown,Maybe i will get on tv when i play the UKOPS main event brilliant value for £12 especially if i get lucky enough to cash.

The Swiss (aka Ed) was for a long time the record holder for most main event wins on Sky.

Doesnt seem to play so much lately but I think I shared a table with him in a tourny a couple of weeks back.

    Good player !

TheSwiss, Anjie1970, & sharksbite are all alive & well, & have been on Sky Poker fairly recently.

PokerBCity - Will Brewin - has retired from poker completely, he's a young man who felt it was time to widen his horizons.

Your memory recall is spot on. I think he may have been the youngest ever player to cash in back to back WSOP Main Events, too.

He had been "grinding" online for some time, & decided he wanted to see a bit more of life, so he moved to London, & became a regular Cash Game player at The Vic.

After a year or so of that, he just snap decided there was a little more to life than poker, & so retired from the game, at least for the time being. He may return, who knows.

He's a fine boy, bright, well spoken, with a good education at Loughborough or Leicester Uni, as I recall. A mate of his, double-barreled name, which I forget, won the SPT Grand Final 2 years ago, & I spotted him in this years SPT Grand Final, too, & I intended to ask him how Will was these days. But I forgot....

Life goes on, peeps come & go, but he has a permanent place in the short history of Sky Poker.

Thats gd to hear , i know she is a very gd tournament player , i was referring to SKY though as when i first started out on here over 2yrs ago she was deep in sooooooooooo many tournaments , even b4 i joined it always seemed to be her name on the final tables so often.

In your opinion phil , would you say that the standard of play in mtt's here has got soooooo much better that its a much much more level playing field than it used to be ??

    Debdobs asked Phil......

"....In your opinion phil , would you say that the standard of play in mtt's here has got soooooo much better that its a much much more level playing field than it used to be ?? ..."

Which was addressed to Phil, so I won't reply. But If I WERE to reply, Heaven forbid, I would say.....

Since almost all of the Tourney structures were overhauled & revamped, I believe the luck/skill balance has tipped much more towards skill. The structures mean that instead of making Final Tables with an average of 6 or 7 BB, the stack sizes are now far more "playable". I think it has made an absolutely mahoosive difference.

Aaaahhh the 'good old' kidney stones days when I had time to devote to online mtts and not tonnes of work day after day!!!

I remember the days when arsenal won trophies and solly didnt rely on constanmtly flopping sets or quads to get chips ;)))

And debs the standard has got much better - as volume on the site has built. The better players will still survive though! Going back to the opening post about players who are no longer around - there are still loads who have been here since the start and still going strong...myself, solly, flash, nutter, scotty etc etc.

    *edit

and as tikay has stated, the structure is millions times better now in all tournies.  Sky deserve big plaudits for always listening to players and aiming to get the skill factor into the end of mtts rather than the shovefests that were there at the start.
